In Bihar, the Election Commission has removed the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Barh, Chandan Kumar and two Sub divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) Rakesh Kumar and Abhishek Singh of the same region in view of poll violence and murder of a political worker in Mokama assembly constituency of Patna district.

MISHAPS: -

A tragic stampede at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Kasibugga of Srikakulam District in Andhra Pradesh claimed at least nine lives early morning yesterday. The incident occurred during the Ekadashi observance in the holy month of Karthika. PM Modi expressed deep grief and announced 2 lakh rupees each for the families of the deceased and 50,000 rupees for the injured.

The U.S. Federal Reserve cut its key interest-rate target by a quarter of a percentage point on Wednesday. But Fed Chair Jerome Powell cautioned that another move in 2025 is not guaranteed.

"A further reduction in the policy rate at the December meeting is not a foregone conclusion. Far from it," Powell said, citing the challenge of making informed decisions amid an economic data blackout due to the government shutdown.

Four experts interviewed by Reuters said they see interest rates continuing to drop in the next six to 12 months.

The total gross Goods and Services Tax, GST collections grew 4.6 per cent to over 1.95 lakh crore rupees last month as compared to October 2024, despite GST rate cuts implemented on 22nd September. The total gross GST revenue in October 2024 was 1.87 lakh crore rupees. The Central GST collection in October stood at 36 thousand 547 crore rupees and State GST is at 45 thousand 134 crore rupees.
