USA INTEREFERING IN BANGLADESH

We do not need USA as WORLD leader AND SELF-APPOINTED GURDIAN OF GLOBAL DEMOCRACY
anymore. In a quick developing multi-polar world, all that the US needs to do
is to have faith in the ability of people across the world to make choices for
themselves in matters of their own countries.
USA keeps on spoiling this using Military power, Clandestine operations,
economic sanctions, offices of UNO … all with disastrous results. Many times, USA retreated with a broken and bloody
Nose—still this country never learns!
I rather completely blame USA CITIZENS not forcing their
leaders, and CIA to stop interfering with other countries—particularly who are
economically, and politically weak.
The not so recent
push by the USA to ‘ensure democracy’ in South Asia has been in Bangladesh with
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently announcing that any individual
seen as undermining the democratic election process in Bangladesh would face
visa restrictions. The US Assistant Secretary, Bureau South and Central Asian
Affairs Donald Lu also reiterated the centrality of ‘promotion of democracy
across the world’ in the Biden - Harris administration.
Some have seen this move as a mere retaliation to the
removal of police protocol of four diplomatic missions to Bangladesh, including
the USA. But not only Sheikh Hasina’s allegation against the USA, where she
accused them of seeking a ‘regime change’ but also the history of USA’S interference across the world points towards a
more complex situation.
We will discuss GLOBAL INTERFERENCE later. Today we talk
about our eastern neighbour—BANGLADESH.
Humanitarian concerns of USA in Bangladesh is actually
CROCODILE’s TEARS SHED and is a US decision of unnecessary intervention in a South Asian country.
Not required at all, particularly when BANGLADESH is having
a difficult time since Murder of Bangabandhu, masterminded by another USA’s
stooge—Pakistan. Under Begum—Bangladesh was
completely controlled by Islamist
Fundamentalists. Under Sheikh Hasina, slowly it is recovering from that. She is daughter of BANGABANDHU, and know her country, and her people well.
USA wants to disturb this process by installing a PUPPET
authoritarian regime in Bangladesh ala Pakistan. In the context of the chequered US history of
intervening in countries to promote democracy it would be wise for Sheikh
Hasina to tread carefully as the elections in Bangladesh coming closer. After
the US imposed sanctions several members of Rapid Action Battalion, an elite
paramilitary unit which the US alleges were sanctioned for alleged extra
judicial killings and disappearances, followed by US Ambassador to Bangladesh
Peter Haas meeting families of victims as well as opposition leader Shahidul
Islam Sumon’s family, it is clear that the USA has set its sights on fiddling
with Bangladesh election.
Sheikh Hasina, foreseeing imminent interference, has
typically not minced her words, saying in Parliament that, “They are trying to
eliminate democracy and introduce a government that will not have a democratic
existence, it’ll be an undemocratic action.”
India too must keep a close eye on these developments.
It seems India’s PM already spoken to President of USA.
