ORIGIN: The Namoshudras are a class Bengali Hindu people who are later called DALITS (post Ambedkar) and at later period of Indian Middle Age were considered Untouchables by ‘Varna Hindus’. They are a part of scheduled caste (NOT SCHEDULED TRIBES) group in India and are found in many eastern part of India, including Assam, West Bengal, Orissa, Manipur, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Arunachal Pradesh.
