  *DECEMBER 7, 1856* FIRST WIDOW GOT REMARRIED SARASIJ MAJUMDER     Kalimati, a daughter of a Kulin Brahmin, living in   Palashdanga, Burdwan, was married at the age of four. During the wedding ceremony, the 58-year-old groom merely touched the bride's head with vermilion and ran to Medinipur. He did not have time to wait. The next day, he married another noble girl. As a ‘KULEEN BRAHMIN’, he had   the great responsibility of rescuing   fathers of unmarried daughters from becoming ‘FALLEN’ in the society. This incident happened in 1850.   U     SCC & MUSLIM WOMEN SECULAR CIVIL CODE SURVEY ON ACCEPTANCE IN INDIA SARASIJ MAJUMDER To understand what the Muslim women think of the provisions that are likely to be at the core of a UCC ,    SCC =SECULAR CIVIL CODE , a word coined by P.M. in his address on 15 th August from LAL QILLA,   884 reporters from the News18 network interviewed 8,035 Muslim women across 25 states and Union Territories (then UCC only). It was not a poll done on social media. Every participant was personally reached by a reporter. The respondents represented a cross-section of female Muslims across different demographics. The survey participants included those 18 years and above to those upto 65 years of age. Right from the illiterate to the post-graduate, the survey captured a wide educational diversity.
