Muslim landlords and Nawabs formed the Muslim League. During this period, Nawab Mahmood Nawaz Khan, the governor of Hyderabad, formed a party named "Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen" (MIM) in 1927 to protect the interests of the Nizam. This party was actually funded by Nizam Usman Ali Khan for his personal interest. MIM was a completely pro-Nizam party .
