During the early 1990s, the Left Front government, led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)], had been ruling West Bengal for over a decade. The opposition parties, particularly the Youth Congress led by state president Mamata Banerjee, accused the Left Front of rampant electoral manipulation, which they termed "scientific rigging". To counter this, Mamata Banerjee launched an agitation demanding that Photo Voter Identity Cards be made the sole mandatory document for voting to ensure fair and transparent elections. Mamata Banerjee was serving as the Minister of State for Human Resource Development in the P. V. Narasimha Rao government. She lost power  within the Indian National Congress after being defeated by Somen Mitra in the 1992 election for the party's youth wing president in West Bengal.   JESHORESHWARI TEMPLE JESSORE, (EAST) BENGAL NOW BANGLADESH “FAMOUS TEMPLES OF BENGAL” SARASIJ MAJUMDER PM Modi visited the TEMPLE on 27 th March, 2021,   offered prayers to Jeshoreshwari Kali at the Temple (Ishwaripur, Satkhira), and placed Crown on the head of   Mother as asymbolic gesture. Crown was made of SILVER, and plated with GOLD. The name 'Jeshoreshwari' means 'Goddess of Jessore' in ‘SANSKRIT’ language. The crown   is now reported stolen. The High Commission of India in Bangladesh has expressed " deep concern … take action against the perpetrators,….” in a TWITTER HANDLE. Local police officials said on the matter, 'We are investigating the CCTV footage of the temple to identify the thief'. MYTHOLOGY: The temple is considered one of the 51 ‘SHAKTI PEETHS’, where hand of “SATI”—Consort of Lord Shiva   had fallen.  NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL DE BASILICA OF SAIGON SARASIJ MAJUMDER NOTRE DAME means “..OUR LADY..” in French, and the first Church NOTRE DAME DE PARIS, is constructed in France, and immortalized by Victor Hugo in his novel-”The Hunchback of Notre Dame” NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL DE BASILICA of Saigon was constructed from 1863 to 1880, and now is the top most Church in hierarchy, at Saigon, and it is a ROMAN CATHOLIC church. All the building materials used in construction were brought from FRANCE. Total cost was 2.5 MM French Franc, at that time. At the front of the Cathedral, there is a STATUE of virgin MARY. Hence, wrote, and shared this BLOG for information. Government of India does not currently issue a single, universal " CITIZENSHIP CARD " to its citizens. There is no standalone document that definitively proves Indian citizenship for Citizen of India. While there is a legislative provision under the Citizenship Act for the government to issue national identity cards, it has not been universally implemented for the general population.
