  JESHORESHWARI TEMPLE JESSORE, (EAST) BENGAL NOW BANGLADESH “FAMOUS TEMPLES OF BENGAL” SARASIJ MAJUMDER PM Modi visited the TEMPLE on 27 th March, 2021,   offered prayers to Jeshoreshwari Kali at the Temple (Ishwaripur, Satkhira), and placed Crown on the head of   Mother as asymbolic gesture. Crown was made of SILVER, and plated with GOLD. The name 'Jeshoreshwari' means 'Goddess of Jessore' in ‘SANSKRIT’ language. The crown   is now reported stolen. The High Commission of India in Bangladesh has expressed " deep concern … take action against the perpetrators,….” in a TWITTER HANDLE. Local police officials said on the matter, 'We are investigating the CCTV footage of the temple to identify the thief'. MYTHOLOGY: The temple is considered one of the 51 ‘SHAKTI PEETHS’, where hand of “SATI”—Consort of Lord Shiva   had fallen. All the building materials used in construction were brought from FRANCE. Total cost was 2.5 MM French Franc, at that time. At the front of the Cathedral, there is a STATUE of virgin MARY. The 90 km.   long river flows through the Alwar District of Rajasthan. It got dried, and   was revived in 1990. It remained dry for 60 years. The turnaround started in 1986, when people of Bhanota- Kolyala village with   the help of Tarun Bharat Sangha, managed by Rajendra Singh, constructed a   JOHAD, (earthen check dam) at the source of the dried river; following this,   villages that lay in its catchment area, and along the dried river bed, they also built tiny earthen dams, the largest being a 244 mt. long and 7 mt.
