  ABDUL MAJID HANGED BANGABANDHU MURDER PARTIALLY AVENGED HE WAS HIDING IN KOLKATA BANGLADESH NEWS SARASIJ MAJUMDER A former army captain of Bangladesh, who murdered Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the biggest hero of Bangladesh's independence in 1971, was arrested.    Abdul Majid, the convicted killer of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was hiding in Kolkata for about 23 years before arrest and handing over to  Bangladesh.  He was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of the Kolkata Police in central Kolkata’s Bowbazar area. During the arrest, he was found in possession of six country-made firearms and 100 pieces of 8 mm ammunition. Abdul Majid was a resident of Liluah Rail Colony in Howrah district .
