He earned ‘Nobel’ Prize in literature as first Asian.   He was a socially conscious person. He was the first Indian who established a ‘Bank’ for Farmers. He experimented with an education process, which adopted ancient ‘GURUKUL’ system, yet taught modern subjects. The outcome was “Shantiniketan” at Bolpur. We all are indebted to him.
