AIR DEFENCE SYSTEM: INDIA

Image
AIR DEFENCE SYSTEM:   INDIA SARASIJ MAJUMDER In a Football Game—you have defense, and offence(Forwards). Similarly—in kinetic war—you primarily fight with two components: Offence, and Défense. We will be discussing India’s Air Defense System here. How India’s Layered Air Defense System Works is explained Step-by-Step below: Early Detection & Tracking is the key of this game. Radar systems like Swathi (Made in India), and satellites with AWACS detect threats early. And accordingly Air Défense System is activated. Otherwise also—system are kept in ‘ALERT’ state. And some system are equipped with built in RADAR. The IAF operates three Israeli Phalcon AWACS (offering 360-degree coverage with a 400 km range) and three Netra Mk1 systems, while Pakistan has 11 AEW&C aircraft and China over 30, according to Swarajya Magazine (February 13, 2024) A.   SWOT ANALYSIS OPERATION SINDOOR SARASIJ MAJUMDER FLASHBACK—1:- Three years ago, a BrahMos missile was launched from a location in Ambala, Haryana. The missile penetrated deep inside Pakistani Air Space about 124 km in 3 mins and 44 seconds of total flight time and crashed in an isolated space of Mian Channu which falls in Khanewal district of West Punjab, Pakistan. Pakistan’s Air Défense system either was not activated, or failed to identify this. Mian Channu lies dead center between two PAF airbases Rafiqui and Vehari airbases. Standard SOP failed. Rafiqui airbase is home to No. 27 Squadron Zarrars and No.50 Squadron Saif Shikan which are tactical attack squadrons of Mirage 5 ROSE III and 5PA respectively. These are their nuclear delivery platforms and quite possibly home to some of their aerial nuclear weaponry. Still they didn’t or say weren't able to shoot down the BrahMos (I...

PANTSIR AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM

Image
PANTSIR   AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM SARASIJ MAJUMDER Important of Air supremacy in WAR started being felt from first world war itself. It got intensified in Second World War. Later, USA, and USSR competed with each other to develop Missiles, ICBM , Supersonics… etc to attack enemy through   aerial route. GULF WAR, fought by USA against IRAQ, first showcased the efficacy of the system. New addition in the attack systems are ‘Military Drones’. With this, the importance of Air Défense System started got developing—and is a must requirement. The THAAD, or Terminal High Altitude Area Défense, is considered to be among the best in the world. It is believed to cost somewhere between $1.96 and $3.25 billion. Lockheed Martin, its makers, says it can defend against short-, medium-, and intermediate-range ballistic missile threats. However, India can’t buy that. Iron drome of Israel was put to test recently, and extensively. It is   found wanting in many ways. In t...

SECOND CAPITAL OF INDIA

Image
EMERGENCY CAPITAL SECOND CAPITAL OF INDIA SARASIJ MAJUMDER 1.0 Historically, Delhi was never` a safe Capital in INDIA for any EMPIRE, from 700 AD to 1780 AD. Mughal Emperors Akbar to Shahjahan (Partly) stayed in AGRA. Even Muhammad- Bin-Tughlaq shifted   his capital to South. British shifted Capital from Calcutta to Delhi, in 1912, and Independent India subsequently retained Delhi   as her Capital. 2.0 However—modern warfare has become so AREAL, that Geographical distance lost most of its relevance. 3.0 Nevertheless, for many reasons, we need a SECOND CAPITAL—largely safe from Missile attacks, and reasonably safe from   NUCLEAR WAR.   4.0 We need to develop a CAPITAL, UNDERGROUND , housed in BUNKERS, where our THINKTANK can stay, and conduct WAR, or execute EMERGENCY PROCEDURES,   if such necessity arises. 5.0 Two locations I think is most suitable:-- Best is Nagpur. Other could be Indore. 6.0 If you check the location of Delhi—it is quite...
