BURIAL Vs.
CREMATION
LAND IS AT PREMIUM!

The Momins claim that burial is better to avoid the expense
of cremating the dead body as per Vedic rituals. A crude research was done, it
was found that in Delhi province 82% Hindus live and there are only 56 registered
crematoriums for their cremation. Whereas there are 573 NOTIFIED ‘KABRISTAN’ (1947 data) are in DELHI (10 were reserved for Christians,
and One for Armed Forces) for 13% Muslims living here. WAQF BOARD may confirm the exact number, condition, whether new are added, and how many are operational.
Most of the ‘MONOTHEISTS’ adopted ‘BURIAL’ as disposal system
for their Dead Bodies. Earlier, they used some ‘BALMS’—now possibly inject
Formaldehyde in high dozes.
The process of reducing by oxidation of a dead body to tiny
bits of bone charcoals resembling ash involves exposing the body to Flame And Intense Heat Followed
By Pulverization Of Bone Fragments is called CREMATION.
ANTYESTHI: After Life leaves this human body, Agni (fire)
which is lighted at the time of Lagna Sanskar is carried from home to
crematorium and there body is offered to fire. By doing so, Atma becomes free
from all types of Rinas (obligations). IT IS A VEDIC RITUAL, known as 16th,
and FINAL SAMSKARA.
Since Birth to Death—a person makes the journey through 16 Samskara.
SOMEDAY—I WILL DISCUSS ALL OF THEM. For your information—‘SHRADDH’
is not a Samskar, listed in Sanatan Dharma. It is a later addition.
Cremation is a ‘VEDIC’ process of disposing the Dead Body. In the
process—the infectious elements of the body is also get destroyed. This is most
‘eco-friendly’ way of disposing dead body.
Earlier—using wood, it used to take 5/6 hours to complete
the process of Cremation.. Now in Electric Crematorium—it takes less than an
hour, between IN, & OUT of Furnace. Now, some Crematorium still uses Wood,
many uses Electric Furnaces, some uses CNG fired Furnaces.
A Crematorium is the best way to dispose of dead body. I have maintained a record, since I
got involved, and till date—I assisted and accompanied 78 cases of Cremation.
If Hindus start burying dead bodies, then may be 3,700 (by same proportion!) additional
cemeteries will be required. Where is the space??
If a body is buried in a coffin safely deep under the ground it could take 50 years
for all the tissue to de-compose, and may be hundreds of years for
the bones to fully decay. And it contaminates the soil!
It is a good average that
it takes 50 years for a dead body in a grave to get completely decayed including the skeleton.
Whereas in a Pyre, it takes maximum gross half a day, from start to
finish, all clean, and the next dead body can be burnt on the
same day, on the same Pyre.
So, in a period of 50 years, where only one body can be
buried in a grave, 36,000 bodies can be easily
cremated on a pyre in the same period.
In Delhi, the average rent of two square yards of land can
range from Rs 24,000 to Rs 24,00,000 per annum. So, at the average cost of rent
of one grave for 50 years, thousands, and thousands of dead bodies can be
cremated in a very good manner.
You can see that the dead have occupied a lot of valuable
land in Delhi. If all those dead bodies are removed with due respect, and burnt in crematorium, grounds can be released, and schools,
colleges, hospitals and houses can be built in place of 573 graveyards, then all the
citizens will benefit immensely.
Weighing up the long-term impacts, a study found that burial
generally has a 10% higher environmental impact than cremation, as it is a more
labour and resource-intensive process. Much of the emissions come from
maintenance of the gravesite and cemetery lawns over the years. Burial occupies
scarce and valuable land, while cremation leaves little trace.
In 2021, flame cremation was the disposition method of
choice for 57.5% of all deaths in the U.S. according to both the Cremation
Association of North America’s 2022 Annual Statistics Report and the National Funeral
Director’s Association 2021 Cremation and Burial Report. CANA’s 2023 Annual Statistics Report reveals that 2022’s
cremation rate grew to a whopping 59%.
I request GOI and Judiciary to join hands to stop process of PUBLIC BURIAL, and people of all religions and faiths shall adopt
only “CREMATION’ of dead bodies in INDIA.
DEAD BODY DOESN’T HAVE ANY SPECIFIC RELIGION.THE DEAD BODY
IS EQUALLY RESPECTED BY ALL. CREMATION IS MOST SCIENTIFIC, and ECO FRIENDLY PROCESS.
