In the second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, today is the last day for withdrawal of nominations for 122 constituencies. Voting will be held on 11th November across 122 assembly constituencies spread over 20 districts. Indian Railways   will   run one thousand and 500 Special Trains over the next five days to cater to Chhath festival rush with an average of   300 special trains per day. These trains will be operated in addition to the regular train services. Ministry of Railways in a statement said that for the upcoming Chhath Puja and ongoing Diwali season this year.   The Telangana Transport Department has ordered the immediate closure of all its check posts across the state following Government Order (GO) No. 58 issued by the Transport, Roads & Buildin...

HOW SHALL WE RECOVER OUR LOST INTELLECTUAL FREEDOM

Sri Aurobindo says ” How shall we recover our lost intellectual freedom? By reversing, for the time being, the process by which we lost it, by liberating our minds in all subjects from the thralldom to authority. The Anglicized ask us to abandon authority, revolt against superstition to have free minds. What they mean is that we should renounce authority of the Vedas for Max Muller, the Monism of Sankara for the Monism of Haeckel, the dogmatisms of Pandits for the dogmatisms of European thinkers, scientists and scholars. Let us break our chains in order to be free, in the name of truth, not in the name of Europe.

Our first necessity, if India is to survive and do her appointed work in the world, is that the youth of India should learn to think, – to think on all subjects, to think independently, fruitfully, going to the heart of things, not stopped by their surface, free of prejudgments, shearing sophism and prejudice asunder as with a sharp sword, smiting down obscurantism of all kinds as with the mace of Bhima…”. In India alone there is self-contained, dormant, the energy and invincible spiritual individuality which can yet arise and break her own and the world’s fetters.

In simple language—‘One Life is not good enough to understand the mind of a Woman’—that is what, Devyani—the heroine of the poem said to Koch, her beloved. Writers also, somewhat loosely used the nomenclatures in their writings. Though they have many commonalities, each one   of them is different, in their PRACTICE,   PURPOSE OF LIFE, AND LEADING   THE LIFE.   We will discuss about them, with the basic differences, in short. The one thing common about them is- that all of them are ‘Spiritual Persons’, and carry the higher form of ‘Sanatan Dharma’, or ‘Hinduism’—as we may understand easily. 1.0   RISHI: He is connected to, and composer of   VEDA, Vedanga, Vedanta--or Knowledge.
