The Stage is set for first phase of Assembly

MISHAPS: -
Philippines,

least six people lost their lives in a tragic train accident at Chunar Railway

India
plans to import eight African cheetahs from Botswana this December under
Project Cheetah—aimed at restoring the species nearly extinct since 1952. The selected cheetahs are currently in
quarantine in Botswana and will be relocated to Kuno National Park in Madhya
Pradesh.

Global
warming forecast: If countries follow through on their climate pledges, the
world will be on track for up to 2.5℃ (4.5℉) of warming, according to a new
report from the UN Environment Program.
Gogabeel Lake, located in the Katihar district
of Bihar, has been officially designated a Ramsar site, gaining global
recognition as a wetland of international importance. With this, India adds yet
another name to its growing list of protected wetlands under the Ramsar
Convention, strengthening its commitment to wetland conservation and
biodiversity protection.
