In a significant judgement reinforcing the crackdown on cross-border drug smuggling, a Special NDPS Court in Fazilka has convicted Gurpreet Singh resident of Fazilka’s Kotha Village, on Friday and sentenced him to 12 years’ rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 1.5 lakh under various sections of the NDPS Act, 1985.

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested three suspected terrorists from Adalaj, Gandhinagar. Initial investigations suggest that the three were associated with ISIS. Weapons have also been recovered from the arrested individuals.

MISHAPS: -

The bodies of an Indian man and his teenage daughter, who visited Nepal as tourists and had gone missing since last month, were recovered from a mountain area near a monastery on Sunday, police said.

A boat carrying Rohingya people fleeing Myanmar has capsized near the Thai-Malaysian maritime border, killing at least seven people and leaving hundreds missing.
