Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Johannesburg, South Africa from 21st to 23rd of November to attend the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit. This will be the fourth consecutive G20 Summit held in the Global South.

PM Modi released the 21st installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi of more than eighteen thousand crore rupees at Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu yesterday. The amount will support nine crore farmers across the country.

Amidst tense bilateral ties, Bangladesh’s National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman has invited Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval to visit Dhaka. The invitation was extended by the Bangladesh side during a meeting between the two NSAs that took place in New Delhi on Wednesday (November 19, 2025) ahead of the 7th Meeting of the National Security Advisers of the Colombo Security Conclave on Thursday (November 20, 2025).

United States formally designated Saudi Arabia a major non-NATO ally following a White House meeting between Trump and Bin Salman that included announcements on arms sales, nuclear energy, and bilateral investments. This week’s trip marks Bin Salman’s first visit to the White House since 2018.

Saudi Arabia will increase its U.S. investment pledge from $600 billion, announced in May, to almost $1 trillion, the White House said.

Saudi Arabia is working to facilitate a nuclear deal between the United States and Iran, Bin Salman told journalists at the White House. He added that Saudi Arabia will “definitely help” fund the reconstruction of Gaza.

Government tensions have upended the economic relationships between the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Together, G20 members account for 85 percent of global economic output, 75 percent of global exports, and about two-thirds of the world’s population. Spain pledged nearly $1 billion in military and energy aid to Ukraine yesterday.

The damage from Hurricane Melissa left Jamaica with some $10 billion in bills, cabinet minister Matthew Samuda told Reuters. The country only had $500 million in reserves stockpiled for climate disasters. Samuda said that the country is seeking aid that will not saddle it with an overwhelming debt burden.

India has unveiled an audacious plan to construct the world’s deepest underwater research laboratory, positioned 6,000 meters (19,700 Feet) beneath the Indian Ocean. This visionary initiative marks a major milestone under India’s Vision 2047 program, aligning with the centenary of the nation’s independence.

Science and Technology Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh launched the country’s first indigenous CRISPR based gene therapy for Sickle Cell Disease, which primarily affects the country's tribal population. The therapy, named BIRSA 101, is dedicated to legendary tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda, whose 150th anniversary was observed on the 15th of this month.

CRIME & PUNISHMENT:

Trials began in Aleppo yesterday for people accused of killing civilians during a spate of deadly violence in March, when clashes between government forces and loyalists of ousted leader Bashar al-Assad escalated into sectarian violence. Around 1,400 people, mostly civilians, were killed. The incidents posed a challenge to the legitimacy of Syria’s interim government.

 The nonprofit European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights accused French energy company TOTAL ENERGIES of complicity in war crimes allegedly committed by state security forces in Mozambique, filing a criminal complaint in France. TOTAL denied.

In a major crackdown on overseas assets created through suspected bank fraud, ED, Bhopal Zonal Office, has provisionally attached nine high-end foreign immovable properties in Dubai valued at Rs 51.70 crore.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed that the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) module was actively developing small rockets for a series of planned blasts, in addition to plotting Hamas-style attacks using drones. A significant anti-Maoist operation conducted in Andhra Pradesh's Maredumilli region resulted in the killing of seven Maoists on Wednesday, a day after six Maoists were eliminated in a related encounter. The seven were killed roughly seven kilometres from the initial site of the Monday exchange of fire, in a forested area within the Alluri Sitaramaraju district.

A Delhi court on Wednesday sent Al Falah University chairperson and founder Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui to 13 days’ Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody, after the agency alleged he generated over ₹415 crore in “dishonestly” obtained funds and posed a flight risk due to family ties in Gulf countries.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast severe cold wave conditions in parts of West Madhya Pradesh today. IMD has also said that there will be a gradual rise in minimum temperature by 2 to 4 degree Celsius in Central India during the next five days. The air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to be in the very poor category. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 395 at 8 PM yesterday.

More than eighty countries so far have endorsed a call for the COP30 climate talks to produce a road map to phase down fossil fuels. It remains unclear whether there is enough support for the proposal to make it into the official summit agreement.

Mumbai-based advocate has moved the Bombay High Court on Wednesday (November 19, 2025) to cancel the BMC’s decision allowing controlled pigeon feeding at four locations, including Airoli-Mulund Creekside, citing health, safety and environmental risks.

Indian shooters continued their impressive performance, securing more medals at the 25th Deaflympics in Tokyo, Japan yesterday. The duo of Abhinav Deshwal and Pranjali Prashant Dhumal clinched gold in the 10m Air Pistol mixed event by defeating Ya-Ju Kao and Ming-Jui Hsu of Chinese Taipei, 16-6 in the final. Meanwhile, Kushagra Singh Rajawat won bronze in the 50 meter Rifle Prone competition. With the win, India’s medal tally in shooting has climbed to 11 so far.
