India-Russia Relationship: During Putin’s visit to New Delhi this time, both  the countries vowed to deepen defense, energy, and economic cooperations, issuing a joint statement celebrating their “time-tested relationship.”

IndiGo Flights Cancellation LIVE: With the travel chaos spilling on to the fourth day, more than 500 IndiGo flights have either been delayed or cancelled, on 04th December, leading to major inconvenience for travellers. All flights of IndiGo which were scheduled to operate from Delhi have been cancelled until midnight yesterday, reported ANI.

The consequences are un thinkable!! DGCA—under pressure, withdrew its well-meaning circular, issued without thinking the effect.

Bengaluru followed with 102 cancellations, split between 50 departures and 52 arrivals. In Mumbai, 104 flights were cancelled, including 53 departures and 51 arrivals. Hyderabad recorded 92 cancellations, comprising 49 departures and 43 arrivals. All Flights from Delhi to Kolkata on 04 DEC. were cancelled.

In view of the surge in passenger demand following widespread flight cancellations, the Indian Railways has deployed 116 additional coaches in 37 premium trains operating over 114 enhanced trips across the country, PTI reported. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has said the situation of Indigo flight delays and cancellations is getting better and it is expected that there won’t be any waiting at airports from today. IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers apologized for the inconvenience caused to the passengers across the country due to the large numbers of flight cancellations.

The Government has constituted a four-member committee for the comprehensive review of the circumstances leading operational disruptions of Indigo flights. The committee has been asked to submit a report within 15 days.

The crisis stemmed from crew shortages triggered by stricter Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) norms, whose final phase was implemented last month. IndiGo — managing over 60% of India’s domestic market — was unable to adjust operations smoothly, resulting in its punctuality collapsing to 19.7% on December 3, its worst performance registered in recent years.

But, a genuine overhaul of the system is necessary. Indigo is operating a big number of flight without adequate Pilots, Air Crafts, and Ground staff. Its soul motive is only PROFIT!

Bharat Taxi, India’s ambitious cooperative ride-hailing platform, has begun pilot operations in Delhi and Gujarat, marking a disruptive shift in how cab services are structured in the country.
