CRIME & PUNISHMENT:

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria, Dec 24 (Reuters) - An explosion tore through a mosque during evening prayers on Wednesday in Maiduguri, the capital of Nigeria’s Borno state, a Reuters witness said. There was no immediate word on casualties or official comment. Unconfirmed news reports – 7 Dead.

OBITUARY;

Renowned litterateur and Jnanpith Award awardee, late Vinod Kumar Shukla, was cremated with full state honour yesterday in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. Shri Shukla passed away on 23 Dec during treatment at AIIMS Raipur. He was 88.
