Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a disproportionate assets
(DA) case against Vishal Deep, former assistant director of the Enforcement
Directorate (ED), Shimla, and his brother Vikas Deep, a senior manager with
Punjab National Bank (PNB), New Delhi. The CBI alleged illicit enrichment of
over Rs 93.24 lakh — more than 231 per cent of the former public servant’s
known sources of income — within a brief period of 10 months in 2024.

Prime
Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of lives due to a
mishap in the Chitradurga district of Karnataka. Over ten people were feared
dead, and several were injured after a private bus caught fire after colliding
