BUDGET SPEECH 2024: FM SELECTED EXTRACTS-PART-1 EXTRACTED BY:SARASIJ MAJUMDER   The global economy, while performing better than expected, is still in the grip of policy uncertainties. In this context, India’s economic growth continues to be the shining exception and will remain so in the years ahead. In the interim budget, we need to focus on 4 major castes, namely ‘Garib’ (Poor), ‘Mahilayen’ (Women), ‘Yuva’ (Youth) and ‘Annadata’ (Farmer). For Annadata, we announced higher Minimum Support Prices a month ago. Administrative actions for approval and implementation of various schemes announced in the interim budget are well underway. The required allocations have been made. In this budget, we particularly focus on employment, skilling, MSMEs, and the middle class. I am happy to announce the Prime Minister’s package of 5 schemes and initiatives to facilitate employment, skilling and other opportunities for 4.1 crore youth over a 5-year period with a central outla...

BJD FORMED SHADOW CABINET BJP SHOULD BE CAUTIOUS IN ORISSA SARASIJ MAJUMDER   Mr. Patnaik has assigned various departments to 50 party MLAs to mirror or shadow the positions held by members of the Cabinet to hold the relatively inexperienced Mohan Manjhi-led BJP government accountable. It is the first time that a party has taken such a step at the state level formally. This   could be seen as a lesson in politics for the rival INDIA opposition bloc in Lok Sabha. In WESTMINISTER system, The Shadow Cabinet is made up of frontbench MPs and Members of the Lords from the second largest party, or official Opposition party.   Shadow cabinet will  AUDIT decisions taken, and  work done by the inaugural Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in ORISSA. The opposition BJD assigned 50 of its 51 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to various departments of the government to form this shadow government , a move akin to Britain’s Westminster s...

TERRORISM IN J & K ANALYSIS & REVIEW A THEORITICAL APPROACH SARASIJ MAJUMDER Terrorism, by definition , are of   three   types:-- 1.0 Internal, and local—the example is Maoists in Jharkhand.   2.0   Exported terrorism—in this case, Terrorists infiltrate from outside the country, and cause disruptions. The example was Mumbai terror attack, 9/11,   where Kasab was arrested.   Generally, these are SUICIDAL MISSIONS. 3.0 Terrorism in Kashmir--- which is a combination of 1.0 + 2.0—as explained before. We will discuss here the third case—i.e. Terrorism in Kashmir valley in details. There are mainly seven (7) fronts of   Terrorism   in Kashmir.   These fronts are--1.0 Building   narratives,      2. 0 Organizing local support, shelters , logistics , and information; 3.0   Fund,     4.0 Manpower,     5.0 Training,   6.0 supply of Arms and other things   and 7.0 o...

BY-ELECTION IN UP. INDIA TV POLL RESULT ON UTTAR PRADESH. SARASIJ MAJUMDER   In the Lok Sabha elections 2024, 43 out of 80 seats in the state went to the account of India Alliance. At the same time, BJP and its allies won only 36 seats. One seat went to the account of others. It was a DEBACLE. In this recently concluded general elections, the results for the saffron party in this major state were not the desired ones and raised questions on the functioning of the government under the leadership of Chief Minister  Yogi Adityanath .  The Dy. C.M. ,   having the high aspiration, met MODI-SHAH and tried his best to blame present C.M. of U.P. He is actually sabotaging the party, with an aim to sabotage YOGI. Why BJP think tank tolerating him –is a big question. I conclude MODI-SHAH can’t   have any use of that creature. However—the election debacle in U.P. is largely attributable to faulty election planning of MODI-SHAH—but YOGI is silently blamed!...

Dr. HAIMABATI SEN CHILD BRIDE TO DOCTOR A LEGEND FORGOTTEN A BRIEF, WITH REVIEW OF HER “MEMOIR” SARASIJ MAJUMDER HAIMABATI   GHOSH (Hem) born in1866 at   KHULNA of BENGAL (now in   BANGLADESH)   became a child widow, married second time, became a Doctor, directed a Women’s Hospital, raised five children, and adopted over 400 orphans. She wrote her ‘MEMOIRS’—actually an autobiography, IN THE FORM OF A DIARY,     in a ruled notebook—which was confined to be   read only by family members. It was written in Bengali Language.   Later translated,   and published as a book.   I read, and have the book. The “Memoir” is a documentary of her fight ,oozing pathos, in personal, professional and social life against the male dominated social   background of nineteenth century Bengal. I am writing this BLOG after reading that book, and taking copious notes. She was cynosure of her father and got educated along with bo...

KING SARGON OF AKKAD PROBABLY WORLD’S FIRST EMPEROR SARASIJ MAJUMDER DEFINITIONS The term “EMPIRE” means a collection of territories, usually quite large where more than one type or race  of people lived, and the “RULER” who has political, economic and military control e.g. TOTAL CONTROL of the region was called “EMPEROR”. The equivalent term of emperor   in India was “SAMRAT” or   “ RAJ --CHAKRAVORTY”. Often, the EMPEROR   used to have some sub-ordinate KINGS ( RAJA)   or VASSALS under him, who paid tax, supported the Emperor with his armed forces when needed—other wise King or Vassal ruled independently within his kingdom/ Territory. It is challenging to definitively identify a single individual as the "first emperor in the   history of entire world" due to the vast scope of human history and the different civilizations that have existed over time. The concept of an EMPEROR or ruler with supreme authority over a large territory or gro...

DR. KADAMBINI GANGULY 1861–1923: BA, GBMC, LRCP, LRCS and LFPSG. THE LEGACY FORGOTTEN SARASIJ MAJUMDER Nehru and his education minister Maulana fabricated a distorted history which glorified MUSLIM & MUGHAL rulers in INDIA, and put all light on that part of CONGRESS, which was ruled by Mohanlal Karamchand, and  Nehru-Gandhi dynasty. Gandhi-Nehru dynasty hijacked Indian history using slave JNU scholars completely in such a way that many legendary leaders, and Personalities  are buried, and  forgotten. Kadambini Ganguly was one of the first female graduates in the entire British Empire (along with Chandramukhi Bose) and became the first female practitioner of western medicine not just in India, but in the whole of South Asia. More than a century ago Dr. Kadambini Ganguly was a very   big inspiration to the women of not only BENGAL, but also INDIA. Beyond a distinguished physician,   she was also Congress party’s first female speaker. As a doct...

TERRORISM   IN JAMMU ACTIVITIES ARE ENHANCED RECENTLY SARASIJ MAJUMDER   Captain Brijesh Thapa, 3-Army jawans and a policeman were killed one day ago in a terrorist attack in Jammu’s Doda area. Kashmir Tigers, a front of Jaise-e-Mohammad has taken the responsibility of this attack. We suffered from a few more attacks by terrorists and deaths of our defence personnel   in recent past in Jammu region. Civilian deaths were  also not less. As usual, we have begun pointing fingers at Pakistan for this latest terrorist attacks. This is just like the famous Pavlov syndrome, which I don’t want to explain further. But have we truly understood or tried to understand why are so many attacks happening recently   in Jammu? TIMELINE OF MAJOR TERROR ATTACKS IN J&K—Last   9 Months:- July 16, 2024: Four Army soldiers were killed in action in Doda. July 8, 2024: Five Army personnel were killed in action and five others injured in an...

REVIVAL OF ARVARI RIVER What a Leader, and People can do. SARASIJ MAJUMDER   REVIVAL OF ARVARI RIVER— Arvari river is a small river, may be the smallest, in the ALWAR,   Indian state of Rajasthan. The 90 km.   long river flows through the Alwar District of Rajasthan. It got dried, and   was revived in 1990. It remained dry for 60 years. The turnaround started in 1986, when people of Bhanota- Kolyala village with   the help of Tarun Bharat Sangha, managed by Rajendra Singh, constructed a   JOHAD, (earthen check dam) at the source of the dried river; following this,   villages that lay in its catchment area, and along the dried river bed, they also built tiny earthen dams, the largest being a 244 mt. long and 7 mt. High Concrete dam, most of them were in the Aravalli hills; eventually when the number of dams reached 375, the river started to flow again in 1990, after remaining dry for over 60 years. Villagers talk about Arvari's rebi...

KNOW THY LEADER AND IDENTIFY ENEMY

KNOW THY LEADER AND   IDENTIFY ENEMY SARASIJ MAJUMDER Think about it—the man who has effectively FIRST MARGINALIZED   AND THEN ALMOST ERASED Arvind Kejriwal (AK-49) & HIS   PARTY without even uttering his name. AK-49 was once a ‘DEEP STATE’ man, later dumped. Uddhav Bhai is gasping for political life!! Congress party IS LIVING SOMETIME IN ICU , SOMETIME IN VENTILATOR for the last 12 years . And who ensured that elections were conducted relatively peacefully in a state like West Bengal—where, at one time, voting was synonymous with violence, gunfire, bombings, and loss of hundreds of lives. Who, and whose party and whose Leaders achieved the above? Introspect. Who revoked Article 370—a decision that Political Pundits & Critics once claimed would start with   a bloodbath in Kashmir, ultimately end with getting Kashmir joining with PAKISTAN. Well—the situation is different!! Who has largely brought the menace of stone-pelters in Kashmi...
