BUDGET HIGHLIGHTS:-
1. FM Sitharaman proposes 'East Coast Industrial Corridor', 5 tourism destinations in 'Purvodaya' States in Union Budget. In poll bound state West Bengal—Durgapur, Siliguri, and Dankuni are in focus.

Union
Budget 2026-27 proposes ₹12.2 lakh crore public capex with high-speed rail
corridors, freight corridors, waterways, CCUS, and city economic regions to
drive growth, sustainability and private investment confidence.

Railway
Budget 2026 allocates a record ₹2.93 lakh crore capex to Indian Railways, with
plans for 7 high-speed rail corridors, network expansion, and modernization to
boost connectivity and economic growth.

Budget
2026 raises India’s defense spending by 15.3% to ₹7.84 lakh crore. Capital
outlay, Make in India push, defense exports, and post-Pakistan conflict lessons

exemption on the biogas or compressed biogas (CBG) component in blended
