The Government has notified the Baggage Rules,
2026 and issued the New Customs Baggage (Declaration and Processing)

INDO—USA TRADE DEAL:
NEW DELHI, Feb 3 (Reuters) – “U.S. President
Donald Trump's move to slash tariffs on Indian imports sparked a relief rally
across the Asian country's markets on Tuesday, lifting sentiment among
exporters and policymakers even as details of the agreement remained scant.
Trump announced a trade deal with India on
Monday to cut tariffs to 18% from 50% in exchange for New Delhi halting Russian
oil purchases and lowering trade barriers.”

Among Asian peers, U.S. tariffs on goods from Indonesia and Pakistan stand at 19% while the rate for Vietnam and
Bangladesh stands at 20%.
CHINA:- The agreed tariff is 30-35%, effective rate.

World Government Summit 2026 opened in Dubai under the theme “Shaping Future

PUNISHMENT:
The
Supreme Court said that tech. giants
cannot play with citizen’s Right to Privacy in the name of data sharing. The
court came down heavily on Meta and WhatsApp while hearing their appeals
against a Competition Commission of India order imposing a penalty of around
213 crore rupees over their privacy policy.
The
government has issued show cause notices to edible oil companies for
non-compliance with the Vegetable Oil Products, Production and Availability
(Regulation) Amendment Order, 2025 (VOPPA Order).
MISHAPS: -
In
Uttarakhand, four people lost their lives when a bus of the Himachal Road
Transport Corporation (HRTC) fell into a gorge today on the Kwanu-Meenas motor
road in the Kalsi area of Dehradun district. Around 12 others were injured in
the accident.
ENVIRONMENTAL: -
An
earthquake with a magnitude of 6 struck Myanmar on Tuesday evening. Tremors

mountaineer Kabak Yano has successfully summited Mount Aconcagua in Argentina,
the highest peak in South America, as part of her ambitious 7-Summit
Mountaineering Expedition. Kabak Yano hails from Arunachal Pradesh. Mount
Aconcagua is towered at 22,831 feet above sea level and it is the highest peak
