India successfully tests fires nuclear capable Agni-3 missile off Odisha coast. The surface-to-surface missile was launched by the personnel of Strategic Forces Command (SFC) from a mobile launcher as part of a regular training exercise for the user.

The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) TEJAS MK-1A (MK-1A), India's advanced indigenous fighter jet, has completed critical weapons firing trials and associated software updates, with certification now pending, according to a source at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).These trials encompassed air-to-air and air-to-ground munitions, including the indigenous Astra beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile.

South Africa has rolled out its first locally produced vaccine for foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in nearly two decades, marking a major milestone in the country’s animal health management. MILITARY, TERRORISM CAUSED CASUALTY:

In central Sudan, 24 people including eight children were killed after a drone attack by a paramilitary group, Rapid Support Forces (RSF), hit a vehicle carrying displaced families.

In Pakistan, the death toll has risen to 36 after a suicide attack at a Shia religious center in the capital city, Islamabad yesterday.

CRIME & PUNISHMENT:

The Delhi Police has launched a major city-wide crackdown called Operation Shastra to tackle the growing misuse of social media platforms for intimidation and fear-mongering. Announced on February 7, 2026, the operation focuses on individuals who post photos with weapons, use abusive language.

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) busted an international oil smuggling racket through a sea-air network-centred operation. The vessels involved devised a method to smuggle large volumes of cheap oil and oil-based cargo from conflict-ridden countries.  The operation was conducted yesterday following the interception of three suspect vessels about 100 nautical miles west of Mumbai on the 5th of this month.

MISHAPS: -

Two avalanches on Saturday hit the Marmolada area in the Dolomites, not far from Cortina d'Ampezzo where the women's Alpine skiing competitions are taking place.

Avalanches killed three people skiing off-piste in the mountains of Trentino Alto Adige and Lombardy, two regions that are home to some of the venues of the Milano Cortina Winter Games, the Alpine rescue service said.
