An India-flagged liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanker, Jag
Vikram, has crossed the Strait of Hormuz, marking the first such transit by an
Indian vessel since a temporary two-week ceasefire between the United States
and Iran was announced.
Prime Minister yesterday asserted that refugees will receive
full constitutional rights while infiltrators will be expelled. He was
addressing a public rally at Katwa in West Bengal.
Sundra, a remote village on the India–Pakistan border in
Rajasthan’s Barmer district, has entered a new phase of life with the arrival
of potable tap water from the Narmada canal network. The water has travelled
about 728 km from the Sardar Sarovar system to reach the village, ending a long
history of scarcity in one of the harshest desert regions of the state. The
milestone is especially significant because many households in Sundra are
receiving clean tap water for the first time since Independence.
All electric cars with an ex-showroom price of 30 lakh
rupees or less registered in the national capital will be granted 100 per cent
exemption on road tax and registration fees till 31 March 2030. The Delhi
Government released a draft of its
Electric Vehicle Policy for the period 2026 to 2030, aiming to accelerate the
adoption of clean mobility.
The Maharashtra government has directed city gas
distribution companies to activate 24×7 helplines and increase the number of
centers processing applications for piped natural gas (PNG) connections. The
step has been taken in the wake of the global energy supply crisis that has
arisen due to conflict in West Asia.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor today pointed out clear
differences between Pakistan's compulsions and India's strategies in the Middle
East crisis, and defended New Delhi's approach while taking a swipe at
Islamabad. I agree with him except ‘SWIPE’ part.

IRAN
WAR:
Tehran was insisting that formal talks can only begin after
Washington gives commitments on a ceasefire in Lebanon and lifting sanctions
on Iran. However, they settled down for discussion on Saturday.
AGENDA AND VIEWS :

Iran wants a ceasefire in Lebanon, where Israeli
attacks continues. Israel and the US have said Lebanon is not part of the
ceasefire – Tehran insists it is.

Iran wants the US to unblock Iranian assets and
end sanctions that have crippled its economy for years. Washington has
indicated that it is open to significant sanctions relief, but only in exchange
for Iranian concessions on its nuclear and missile development.

USA agreed to release impounded assets of Iran in Foreign Banks.

Iran wants acknowledgement of its authority over
the Strait of Hormuz, where it aims to collect transit fees and control
access. The US wants it opened for oil tankers and other vessels without any
limitations, including tolls on shipping.

Iran is expected to demand compensation for all
damage during the six-week war. The US has not commented on reparations.

Iranian sources have said they are willing to
negotiate, but that US demands are excessive.

Israel and the US both want Iran’s missile
capabilities to be dramatically curtailed. Tehran says its missile arsenal is
non-negotiable.

Iran wants the withdrawal of US combat forces
from the region, cessation of war on all fronts and a commitment to
non-aggression. Trump has vowed to retain military assets in the Middle East
until a peace deal is reached. He’s warned of a major escalation in fighting if
Iran fails to comply.
Indonesia has welcomed “encouraging” talks between the US
and Iran in Pakistan, and urged both sides to advance a “sustainable solution”
to the dispute.
The former US secretary of state says the Israeli prime
minister had repeatedly urged US administrations to carry out military strikes
on Iran, but previous presidents declined.
Plans for Hormuz: Middle East oil producers asked Asian
refiners to submit crude-oil loading programs for April and May. That indicates
preparations for the resumption of shipping in the strait. Trump warned Iran
not to charge a toll on tankers sailing through those waters. Can they ensure that?
The Americans have said that unless the Strait of Hormuz is
opened, it will be very difficult to make headway in Negotiation. The Pakistani
delegation put forward a proposal on regulating navigation through the Strait
of Hormuz. It includes joint patrols in the strait.
Two US Navy destroyers have crossed the Strait of Hormuz,
marking the start of a US-led effort to remove sea mines and reopen one of the
world’s most critical oil transit routes.
The operation, announced Saturday, involves the
guided-missile destroyers USS Frank E. Peterson (DDG-121) and USS Michael
Murphy (DDG-112). Both vessels moved through the strait and into the Arabian
Gulf as part of a broader mission aimed at ensuring maritime safety following
the placement of mines attributed to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.
Iran "strongly rejected" Washington's claims that
U.S. vessels entered the strait, military spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari told
state TV.

A Muslim spiritual leader was hacked to death for allegedly

two separate mob attacks in western Kushtia and northwestern Rangpur in

The Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council had on
April 9 said there have been 133 incidents of communal violence between January
1 and March 31 this year. It amounts to 1.5 attacks
per day!
JAKARTA, April 11 (Reuters) - Indonesian President Prabowo
Subianto will depart to Russia in the coming days and is expected to meet
President Vladimir Putin during the visit, Indonesia's foreign minister said
on Saturday.
Minister Sugiono said the visit would discuss the
potential for Indonesia to buy Russian oil as an alternative source amid
global supply crunch due to Iran war.

Minister M.K. Stalin’s secretary P. Umanath of having violated the model code
of conduct by issuing administrative instructions to Collectors and police
officers.
The Delhi Police Special Cell busted an interstate terror,
arms, and espionage module linked to Pakistan's ISI, arresting 11 people. The
network used solar-powered CCTV cameras near sensitive military sites in Punjab
and Rajasthan for real-time intelligence sharing and was planning grenade
attacks on defense installations.
In Hyderabad, Telangana, The HYDRAA demolishes farmhouse,
two guest houses, three apartment towers and an office structure at Ilapur in
Ameenpur. HYDRAA says it freed 861 acres of government land worth more than
₹15,000 crore. Structures reportedly came up in violation of High Court stay
orders.
