A February tip-off about suspicious activities inside a Tata
Consultancy Services BPO campus in Maharashtra’s Nashik triggered a covert
police operation, with undercover women constables deployed as housekeeping
staff, an exercise that has now exposed an alleged conversion racket with international
links. Investigators say the probe, backed by WhatsApp chats, a suspected
Malaysia-linked preacher and victims' testimonies, points to a potentially
wider network operating from within the TCS office. Special Investigation Team (SIT) sources said that at least 12
employees have now been identified as alleged targets, up from nine. So far,
nine FIRs have been registered, filed by eight women and one man, invoking
serious charges including sexual harassment, rape on the pretext of marriage,
religious manipulation and hurting religious sentiments. According to the FIRs, the accused employees allegedly molested women
colleagues and attempted to coerce them into religious conversion. The
incidents, reported by women aged between 18 and 25, are said to have taken
place over a span of two to three years, beginning around 2022. |

IRAN WAR:(Al
Jazeera, Tehran Times, Israel Times, NYT)

of Iran's ports, angering Tehran and adding uncertainty around the crucial
waterway, although hopes for dialogue to end the war provided some relief to
oil markets where benchmark prices fell below $100.
US President Donald Trump says
Iranian officials have called and “want to work a deal”. Messages are still
being exchanged between Iran and Pakistan, a diplomatic source has told Iran’s

Israel and Lebanon are due to
open formal talks in Washington, DC, today at the US State Department.
Israel will be represented by its
ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter, who is a US-born far-right figure and a
longtime settlement activist.
Lebanon will be represented by
its ambassador in Washington, DC, Nada Hamadeh Moawad, with the US ambassador
to Lebanon, Michael Issa, also participating.
The talks follow a
precedent-breaking phone call between the Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors over
the weekend, as the two countries have no formal diplomatic relations.
The talks come amid intense
international pressure on Israel to halt its invasion of Lebanon. Israeli
forces continue their advance in southern Lebanon and have repeatedly hit the
capital, Beirut.
Israel says its invasion of
Lebanon is a response not only to Hezbollah attacks but also to the Lebanese
government’s failure to execute its own plan to disarm Hezbollah.
Israel says it will not negotiate
a ceasefire with Hezbollah, which has publicly rejected Lebanon’s direct
negotiations with Israel.
