The Election Commission on Friday ordered repolling in 15 polling stations in Diamond Harbour and Magrahat Paschim Assembly seats in South 24 Parganas district on Saturday. Polling will take place from 7 am to 6 pm at 11 booths in Magrahat Paschim and four booths in Diamond Harbour.  The repolling came after the BJP alleged that EVM buttons were found tampered with using tape in Falta, which is part of the Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency.

The 13.3-km "Missing Link" on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway officially opened on May 1, 2026, cutting travel time by 20–30 minutes. The ₹6,695 crore project bypasses the congested Khandala Ghat section, reducing the overall distance by 6 km.
