HAMAS AND HEZBOLLAH

SARASIJ MAJUMDER

They exist together bound by their common hatred of ,  and their compulsive mission to destroy ISRAEL.

Without that common thread, they would be fighting each other.

Hamas is a group of Sunni Muslims while Hezbollah is made up of Shia Muslims.

Hezbollah was established in the wake of the 1982 Lebanon War by Lebanese clerics who had studied in Najaf. It adopted the model of Islam set out by Ayatollah Khomeini after the Iranian Revolution in 1979, and the party's founders adopted "Hezbollah" as the name chosen by Khomeini. “HEZBOLLA” means the army of ALLAH.

Ayatollah Khomeini was a senior Islamic jurist cleric of Shia (Twelvers) Islam. That is how—Hezbollah, Lebanon, and Iran got connected. And politically—IRAN gets involved in war against Israel.

They have not worked together or coordinated their efforts because of this fact.

Unlike Hamas, Hezbollah has, to date, not gone to war only for the Palestinian cause. Hezbollah considers itself as a Shia resistance movement. Its ideology is focused on expelling all western powers from the Middle East and on rejecting Israel’s right to exist.

“Hamas”, which translates literally as “zeal,” is an Arabic acronym for the “Islamic resistance movement”. Hamas adopted the principle of armed resistance and committed to the annihilation of Israel. “HAMAS” is a part of PLO. It took over the control of GAZA strip, after ISRAEL evacuated itself,  and withdrawn from GAZA.

Both receive funding from Iran but as a Sunni organization, Hamas does not share the Shia religious link with Iran that characterizes Hezbollah and most of Iran’s proxies. As a result, while Hamas no doubt benefits from Iran’s patronage, it tends to operate more independently than Hezbollah. Qatar directly supports HAMOS, where their top leaders are sheltered.

Right now, this is a war between Israel and Hamas. Hezbollah is on the sidelines, but remains a threat to Israel. If activated by Iran, its full involvement would rapidly change the course of the conflict and likely open up a regional war.

But— right now--both Iran, and Qatar are proposing  negotiations, and discussions.

That is a good sign.

  OPERATION SINDOOR ECONOMIC LOSSES OF PAKISTAN SARASIJ MAJUMDER It will be difficult for Pakistan to come out of the loss it suffered in this 4-day KINETIC WAR, fought only in the airspace, involving Fighter Jets, Missiles, and DRONES as attacking weapons. Pakistan claims that J-10C jets, equipped with PL-15 missiles, were used in combat, and that they downed multiple Indian Rafale and other fighter jets. GOI has not accepted any loss of Fighter Jet.
