POINT-1: THEN WHAT WAS HE DOING IN THE PUB??

Mihir Shah, main accused in the Mumbai BMW hit-and-run case, was on Wednesday sent to police custody till July 16.

He had been hiding since the accident on July 7 morning, and was arrested from a resort in Virar on July 9 after a nearly 60-hour statewide manhunt.

He was assisted by FAMILY  including mother, and sister to escape, and hide.

SOME FACTS

Mihir’s father Rajesh Shah is a suspended Shiv Sena leader.

The BMW car belongs to him.

The accident claimed the life of 45-year-old Mumbai resident Kaveri Nakhwa. The Woman got stuck and dragged over a kilometre.

Her husband Pradip survived with injuries.

The husband had complained to the police and cops from Worli caught Rajesh Shah and the family driver, Rajrishi Bidawat, in the BMW when Mihir Shah hit the bike, as they were destroying evidence.

POLICE SAYS---Probe is on,  Police asked for 7 days’ custody of Mihir.

After the collision, Mihir Shah allegedly fled the scene, leaving his car and driver behind.

He travelled in an auto rickshaw to his woman friend's residence in suburban Goregaon.

Mihir's sister later arrived in Goregaon and took him and his friend to her residence in Borivali.

The Shah family then decided to flee to a resort in Shahapur, Thane district, traveling in an Audi car. Mihir's mother Meena, sisters Kinjal and Pooja, and two friends accompanied the culprit.

POINT 2:- THEY ALL WERE ACCOMPLISH.

TRACKING:-

Mumbai Police tracked Mihir Shah's movements by monitoring the mobile phone of one of his friends.

Late on July 8, when the friend turned on his phone for 15 minutes, the police located them in Virar and arrested Mihir. 72 HOURS AFTER THE ACCIDENT, CAUSED BY A DRUNK, AND NEGLIGENT DELINQUENT BOY OF A POLITICAL LEADER.

Before the accident, Mihir had been partying with friends at a bar in the Juhu area.

He was spotted driving his BMW with his driver, Rajrishi Bidawat, in the Marine Drive area around 4:30 am.

The accident occurred as they reached Worli, resulting in Kaveri Nakhwa's tragic death.

In their investigation, the Mumbai Police brought in Mihir's mother and two sisters for questioning from Shahapur in Thane district.

They, along with 10 others, are being interrogated regarding the incident.

Mihir Shah's evasion lasted two days before the police successfully tracked him down.

His arrest from Virar was facilitated by the mobile phone activity of his friend, providing the crucial lead needed by the authorities.

They said they needed to find out who helped him to avoid immediate arrest.

They also need to find out if Mihir has a driving licence.

The BMW’s rear number plate, which was not on the car when it was impounded, has to be traced as well.

Lawyer opposes custody: AS USUAL. MOST LAWYERS ARE ACCOMPLISH TO CRIMINALS.

Mihir’s lawyer told the court there’s no need to keep him in custody. He also objected to his client’s arrest as no grounds were given for detaining him.

He said Mihir and his driver, Rajrishi Bidawat, who is accused of reversing the car over Kaveri’s lifeless body, were questioned in front of each other and their statements matched.

Also, police had taken Mihir to the accident spot on Tuesday and he had narrated how the crash occurred.

The lawyer said, as police have Mihir’s phone, there’s nothing to be gained by detaining him

POINT 3: POSSESSION OF PHONE BY POLICE DOES NOT DILUTE THE CRIME..

The husband had complained to the police and cops from Worli caught Rajesh Shah and the family driver, Rajrishi Bidawat, in the BMW when Mihir Shah hit the bike, as they were destroying evidence.

WHY SUSPENSION ONLY, MR. SHINDE? WHY NON EXPEL HIM FOR GOOD??

Rajesh Shah had been arrested on Sunday, hours after the collision.

The cops also believe Rajesh Shah and Bidawat helped Mihir Shah escape; multiple phone calls were logged between father and son in the immediate aftermath of the collision.

However, Rajesh Shah received bail a day after his arrest - on payment of ₹ 15,000.

Bidawat remains in jail.

All three face several charges, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

POINT—4: NO. SINCE HE DIDN’T STOP CAR, DRAGGED THE BODY—IT SHALL BE TEARTED AS MURDER. AND AFTER THE CRIME—HE ESCAPED AND HIDE.

The horrific collision in Mumbai's Worli area took place hours after Mihir Shah and four of his friends were at Juhu's Vice-Global Tapas Bar. POLICE has accessed a copy of the ₹ 18,730 credit card bill.

The bar was sealed Tuesday and portions have been demolished this afternoon.

Apart from serving liquor to underage persons - Mihir Shah is 24 and the minimum drinking age in Mumbai is 25. The bar was also sealed for serving alcohol without a proper license and for illegal construction on the property. These illegal bits were demolished.

His mother and sisters have also been taken into custody.

The woman who was killed has been identified as Kaveri Nakhwa, 45. She was travelling with her husband, Pradip, when the BMW driver lost control and hit the two-wheeler.

Horrific details have emerged of the crash, including CCTV footage that indicates Ms. Nakhwa was dragged for 1.5 km after the collision before the BMW was stopped.

The police said the footage also indicated Shah then exchanged seats with Bidawat, pulled the woman's body out from under the car, and left it on the road. The car was then driven away.

The husband spoke to TV and lamented the shock death of his wife.

"I ran behind the car for half a kilometre, but could not find the body. I was crying, screaming, but he did not stop. If he had stopped for a second, nothing would have happened," Mr. Nakawa had said.
