HAMDARD PRODUCTS

HAMDARD PRODUCTS

THE CLAIMS & REALITY

SARASIJ MAJUMDER

Hamdard Laboratories (India) is a Unani pharmaceutical and food company. It was established in 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed in Delhi, and became a waqf (non-profitable trust) in 1948. Some of its most popular products include Sharbat Rooh Afza, Safi, Rogan Badam Shirin, Sualin, Joshina and Cinkara.

Unani came to India with Delhi Sultanate, and progressed further during ‘Mughal’ period.

It  competes with ‘Ayurvedic Medicines’ in the ‘Alternate Medicine Sector’—but popular with  mainly Muslims, and some simpletons. Hamdard produces medicines under following categories:

1.0 Classic Medicines.//2.0 Patented Medicines. //3.0 OTC// Newly Launched Medicines.// and ‘Products as per Ailment’.

It manufactures all products under the trade name 'Hamdard'.

Hamdard recently has roped in Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla as the brand ambassador to endorse one of their  erstwhile flagship brand of seventies, and eighties, --ROOH AFZA, in India, after it's sale suffered recently due to easy availability of many alternatives.

‘HAMDARD’  Pakistan was established in 1948.

Hamdard Laboratories,  (Waqf),  Bangladesh was formed in 1972.

There was a very famous ‘Ayurvedic’ company, named ‘SADHANA OUSHADHALOY, DHAKA’,  established in 1914 in erstwhile East Bengal—now Bangladesh. It is now counting last days due to Muslim atrocities in Bangladesh.  It has a small part of it’s production facilities in West Bengal—which is another wrong place to build ‘INDUSTRY’.

‘HAMDARD’ INDIA has made  some claims about some of its medicines, which seems to be exaggerated but no one has ever questioned about those claims. These products need Pharmacological Investigations!!! I request IMA to initiate this.

We now discuss some of them in details below:

1.0 HAMDARD has a product for “ PENILE TISSUE ENLARGEMENT”—The medicines listed for this treatment are:1.0 Rogan Kharateen//2.0 Rogan Quest//3.0 Rogan Beer Bahut.

I didn’t find any Laboratory certificate and Proof  which JUSTIFY THE CLAIM. No user ever stated anywhere how he benefited using any of these medicine.

2.0 The other product listed is which ‘Lifts Up’ SAGGING BREASTS. The name is "Zamad Sabab”. Application procedure also suggests—'… Thereafter, wear a brassiere.’ I don’t want to discuss it any further.

3.0 There is a syrup called “SAFI”, which claims to completely purify the blood. I have never seen anyone either to Certify, or to Question its effectiveness in the purchased secular media or on social media.

3.1 After all, what is meant by “PURIFICATION OF BLOOD”? What element  is in this syrup that achieves this? And in support of its big claim, which investigation report is the Waqf Laboratory, can produce?

4.0 Similarly, there is another medicine, “ROGAN BADAM SHIRIN ” oil, and Capsules. The company claims that it is the pure oil (??) of Almonds. And Hamdard sells 100 ml of it for ₹.750/- only!!!A very high price it seems.

4.1 My question again is, has anyone analyzed what it contains chemically . Generally, 1 Kg raw almond costing ₹ 500/- will produce minimum 250 cc of raw oil. So cost of Oil is ₹200/- per 100 ml.

4.2 Why it costs more than 3 times??

5.0 There is a whole lot  of  ‘Unani Wellness Product for enhancement of Sexual Health’—claiming to be useful for ‘Erectile Dysfunction’ and  etc. for Men. Did some reputable independent laboratory tested them?

In the same way, if you analyse  many of  the products of Hamdard, where only claims have been made, there is no proof  available anywhere as per my knowledge, and search. And to my understanding-- most of them are overpriced!!

No leader has ever questioned the big claims of Hamdard's medicines, or products. Web site ‘AYUSH’ has an ‘UNANI’ section, but has not developed the site to the satisfaction. It should have all test certificates, and Clinical Trial records available there, product wise,  for study. This is available in 'PUBLIC DOMAIN'  for many ‘AYRURVEDIC’ and  all ‘ALLOPATHIC’ medicines.

NOW-- if Patanjali launches a product, then the whole social media, all the opposition leaders, all the secularists, Marxists---become Doctorates In  Pharmacology, and deliver so much knowledge in purchased media as if no one on this earth is more knowledgeable than them in subject product!

Actually, Baba Ramdev's Biggest Crime Is That He Always Wears Saffron Clothes!!

Think about it, Ramdev himself comes from a community that is not Brahmin yet people like Dilip Mandal, Brinda Karat, Sitaram Yechury, Asaduddin Owaisi all oppose him because he  wears saffron.

If Patanjali has made any mistake or cheated then they should be held responsible as per law but the same should be applicable to Waqf Laboratory’s products as well!.

Playing Ground Shall be EQUALLY FLAT, or EQUALLY UNEVEN for all.

Comments

  1. I am not aware of effetiveness of Hamdard medicines. The medicines sell by propagation of claims and influencers. However, I did find that the sweet smell is there even if the bottle of Rooh Afza is well washed after contents have been used. Patanjali has earned whatever popularity or otherwise it has earned is by wide claims and its rise has made a particular class jealous of it.
