- The United States has instructed Taiwan Semiconductor
Manufacturing Co (TSMC) to halt the shipment of certain advanced chips to China
starting Monday. TSMC is the largest semiconductor
chip making company by volume.
- New York City will end a pilot program that gave
prepaid debit cards to migrant families to help them buy food. New York City
launched the program earlier this year. It allowed migrant families to buy food
at grocery stores, supermarkets, convenience stores, and bodegas, local station

- The U.S. has told Qatar that the presence of Hamas in
Doha is no longer acceptable in the weeks since the Palestinian militant group
rejected the latest proposal to achieve a ceasefire and a hostage deal, a
senior administration official told Reuters on Friday (November 8, 2024).The
tiny Gulf state Qatar, alongside the U.S. and Egypt, has played a major role in
rounds of so-far FRUITLESS
TALKS TO BROKER A CEASEFIRE to the year-long war in Gaza. The latest
round of talks in mid-October failed to produce a deal, with Hamas rejecting a
short-term ceasefire proposal. Qatar is now out of Gaza negotiations.

- Canada police suddenly became active, and arrested
Khalistani leader in connection to recent attack on Brampton Hindu Temple.
- In Ottawa, a Canadian police officer was suspended on Monday after a video
went viral on social media showing him participating in a pro-Khalistan protest
outside a Hindu temple in Brampton, media reports said, quoting authorities. The
suspended Peel Regional Police officer, identified as Harinder Sohi, was caught
on camera holding a Khalistan flag, while others in the protest chanted
anti-India slogans, CBC News reported. He was not in police uniform. Sohi was a
Sergeant of the Peel Regional Police.
- Media Relations Officer Richard Chin emailed CBC News
to say the police force is "aware of a video circulating on social media
which shows an off-duty Peel Police officer involved in a demonstration". "This
officer has since been suspended in accordance with the Community Safety and
Policing Act," he said. Brampton police also arrested
SFJ Canada coordinator in Hindu temple violence case.
