Highlights from Prime Minister
Narendra Modi's 127th Mann Ki Baat episode address on 26 October 2025:
(a) PM Modi
spoke about the Mahaparva of Chath, calling it a reflection of India's deep
cultural, natural, and social unity.
(b) There was a
special mention of the GST Bachat Utsav (festival of savings), with a notable
increase in the purchase of indigenous products during the festival season.
(c) PM Modi
recalled his earlier appeal to reduce edible oil consumption by 10%, stating it
has received a positive response.
(d) PM Modi noted
that Operation Sindoor has filled every Indian with pride. He said that this
time, lamps of joy were lit even in those areas which were once affected by
Maoist terror.
(e) Praised the
paramilitary forces (BSF and CRPF) for inducting Indian dog breeds and
highlighted indigenous dogs' achievements, such as detection of explosives in
Maoist-affected areas.
(f) Mr Modi
spoke about Kapil Sharma of Bengaluru who has started a campaign to give a new
life to lakes in the city Mr Sharma’s team has rejuvenated 40 wells and six
lakes in Bengaluru and surrounding areas.
(g) The Prime
Minister called for celebrations marking the 150th year of the national song
'Vande Mataram,' underlining its significance and the values it represents

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate India Maritime
Week (IMW) 2025 in Mumbai today. The five-day event, being organised by the
Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in partnership with the Indian Ports
Association, will showcase India’s vision for sustainable maritime growth,
trade expansion, and blue economy development.
The Ministry of Mines has officially recognised the Indian
Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and the Centre for Materials For
Electronics Technology (C-MET), Hyderabad, as Centres of Excellence (CoEs)
under the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM). The announcement was
approved by the Project Approval and Advisory Committee (PAAC) on 24 October
2025.

ready for high-stakes meeting. China's top trade negotiator, Li Chenggang, told
reporters that the two sides had reached a “preliminary consensus," while
Mr. Trump's treasury secretary, Scott Bessent, said there was “a very
successful framework."
Japan seeks Indian workers amid ageing population, but
people-to-people ties lag. Officials in the Cabinet Secretariat and the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs point to the “perfect complementarity” between the
two countries.

Russia tested new nuclear-powered cruise missile. The
missile travelled 14,000 km and was in the air for about 15 hours, Chief of the
General Staff of Russia's armed forces told President Vladimir Putin.
Netanyahu says Israel to decide which international forces
in Gaza acceptable. Trump administration has ruled out sending U.S. soldiers
into Gaza. The force could draw on troops from Egypt, Indonesia and Gulf Arab
countries.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is preparing
to launch the CMS-03 military communication satellite, also known as GSAT-7R,
on 2 November 2025 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the
deep depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining southwest Bay of
Bengal intensified into a cyclonic storm.

World Record at Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, lifting 92kg in Clean and Jerk to
