In Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath cabinet approved the constitution of an OBC
commission. The commission’s recommendations are a Supreme Court prerequisite
for implementing backwards-class quotas in Panchayat elections.
In Sikkim, LPG supply and distribution situation across the
state remains normal and stable. Official sources said that, as on date, the
total pending LPG refill bookings in the state are only 3,839 number, while the
average daily refill delivery being carried out is around 3,330 numbers.
Fruit Research Centre in Sangareddy district, Telangana

In the run-up to the May 26th Civic Bodies elections in

The Government of West Bengal has constituted two inquiry
commissions to investigate institutional corruption and atrocities against
women, in line with the election promises made by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

West Bengal Cabinet announced some major decisions. One
being ‘Discontinuation of Religious Aids’:
Government decided to stop direct government assistance and
subsidies to groups based on religious categorization from June, while allowing
general scholarship programmes to continue. Imam Vata, Purohit Vata etc. will
discontinue.
Administrative & Educational Shifts: Raised the
retirement age for contractual educators and staff (including Madrasa and
secondary centers) to 65 and increased their one-time retirement grant to ₹5
lakh. Vande Mataram is
also being introduced as a mandatory prayer song for morning assemblies in
state-run and state-aided schools.
Applicants for citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment
Act and those who have approached various tribunals will also be eligible to
apply for the scheme. A dedicated portal will be launched for enrolment under
the scheme.
The state government also announced that a fresh OBC list
for West Bengal will be prepared following the recent Calcutta High Court
judgment.

Two US fighter jets collided mid-air during an air show at
Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho on Sunday. According to local media
reports, the aircraft involved in the accident were two EA-18G Growler fighter
jets. Emergency response teams rushed to the area after the collision, while
thick black smoke was seen rising near the crash site. All four crew members
aboard the two fighter jets had safely ejected before the crash.
