INC, TMC(MAMATA) & INDI Alliance: Recent Developments:

Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge chaired an urgent national leadership meeting at the party's Indira Bhavan headquarters in New Delhi. This meeting follows high-profile internal organizational planning sessions and sequential INDI--A block alliance coordination meetings held earlier in the week, and the personal meetings between Sania Gandhi  and Mamata Banerjee—as well as  Rahul Gandhi, and Abhishekh, which spread rumour of TMC’s merger with INC.

Mr. Jayram Ramesh, and Mr. KC Venugopal both attended the meeting, and categorically denied this  ‘MERGER’ possibility.

\CPI(M),who has some election understanding with INC in Bengal-- is strongly against this merger.

WHAT OFFICIAL VERSION OF INC—IS NOT WHAT WILL HAPPEWN. MAMATA HAS AN OFFER, AND NO ALTERNATIVE. I WILL POST A ‘BLOG’ ON THIS.

BENGAL FILES:

After getting ‘Anticipatory Bail’ for two weeks—Abhishek returned to Kolkata and was greeted with ‘CHOR CHOR’ slogan. People were ready to apply ‘REOTTEN EGG THERAPY’—but security helped him to avoid that. He reported to CID at Bhabani Bhavan, and was interrogated from 5:50 PM until approximately 11:30 PM before leaving somewhat  shaken without addressing the media.

Senior TMC MP and advocate Kalyan Banerjee launched an aggressive public attack on Abhishek, explicitly stating, "Abhishek Banerjee can’t be my boss." Citing Abhishek's "arrogance" and flawed leadership as the main reasons for the party’s historical election loss, Kalyan announced he will no longer represent Abhishek in any legal matters.

Senior party leaders and long-time Mamata Banerjee loyalists have presented her with an ultimatum: she must choose between veterans like them and her nephew.

Adding to the internal panic, Rajya Sabha MP Prakash Chik Baraik—a close associate of Abhishek Banerjee, and Koel Mallik —resigned from Parliament. TMC Rajya Sabha strength is now reduced to 9 Members out of 13.

Kolkata Corporation is taking action on illegal constructions of TMC buildings at Kolkata. CM  issued a stern warning against TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee, stating that the state police will thoroughly investigate Banerjee’s corporate properties and alleged ties to illegal network.

Adhikari announced that the new administration has already deported 4,800 "illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators" over the past month by directly handing them over to the BSF under central laws. He noted that an additional 836 individuals are currently in holding centers awaiting deportation.

The Chief Minister ordered a comprehensive state-wide survey of all MADRASAS by district officials.

Temple Upgrades: He announced that major infrastructure development initiatives are starting to upgrade facilities at the Dakshineshwar and Kalighat temples to high international standards.

Government Employee Perks: Addressing state welfare, Adhikari confirmed that a formal Dearness Allowance (DA) announcement for government employees and pensioners will be rolled out in the upcoming state budget.

GULF WAR:

Trump said he cancelled “scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran” because “discussions” had been approved by Iran’s “highest level” of leaders. He also said a deal could be signed as soon as this weekend, possibly in Europe.

The deal to be signed (??) will not please ISRAEL.

The United States has carried out a second consecutive night of what it described as “self-defence” strikes against Iranian military infrastructure near the Strait of Hormuz, further escalating tensions in West Asia.  Explosions were reported in and around Bandar Abbas and on Qeshm Island, as the confrontation entered a more dangerous phase.

Researchers from AIIMS, ICMR, and IARC have validated an indigenous HPV test that meets international standards, offering India an affordable solution for large-scale cervical cancer screening.  Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination helps to prevent the future infections.

ENTERTAINMENT:

On 5 June 2026, 51 artistes received Sangeet Natak Academy awards at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow. The awards covered the years 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, and the recipients were associated with music, dance, theatre and folk arts.

The Sangeet Natak Academy is India’s national academy for music, dance and drama.

WEATHER:

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a wet spell over northwest parts of the country till Saturday with possibility of thunderstorms with gusty winds and hail storm.

CRIME & PUNISHMENT:

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully secured the deportation of Ganesh Balaso Kale from Thailand to India in connection with a cybercrime fraud case.

MISHAPS: -

In China, Seven people were killed and 17 others injured in an explosion in Xing’an County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

All three Indian seafarers who were initially reported missing after the tragic incident aboard the commercial vessel Palau-flagged MT Settebello have now been confirmed dead. The tanker was hit off the coast of Oman in a suspected US missile strike. USA, I THINK, NOT YET TENDERED ANY APOLOGY!

GAMES & SPORTS: -

Host nation Mexico defeated  South Africa by 2-0 at the legendary Mexico City Stadium, preceded by an all-star opening ceremony featuring Shakira, J Balvin, and Burna Boy.

India retained the No. 1 position in the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings after the annual update on 11 June 2026. India’s rating stood at 118 points, while New Zealand held second place with 113 points and Australia remained third with 109 points.

In Badminton, PV Sindhu and Tanvi Sharma advanced to the Women’s Singles quarterfinals of the Australian Open in Sydney.
