PM’s FRANCE VISIT:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met French President Emmanuel
Macron in Nice, France, on 14 June 2026.

WAR:
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says a “peace deal”
between US and Iran has been reached and is “now in place” with the signing
ceremony scheduled for Friday in Switzerland.
US President Donald Trump says the agreement with Iran “is
now complete” and announces an end to Washington’s naval blockade in the Strait
of Hormuz.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi says the
text of the deal has been “finalised” and war will end on all fronts, including
Lebanon.
Iran’s military says the Iranian people have proved that the
US and Israel had “no choice but to accept defeat and surrender”.
Both sides have agreed to stop fighting on all fronts, which
also includes Israel in Lebanon (which has long been a sticking point, since
Israel wanted Lebanon to be excluded from a deal between the US and Iran).
Trump said that traffic should resume through the Strait of
Hormuz without any payment being imposed on vessels.
Technical talks will be held this week.
Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye were thanked for their
contribution in reaching the accord.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy
rainfall over parts of North East India and West Bengal. IMD said that conditions are favourable for

A historic cultural milestone was achieved in Colombo
yesterday as more than 5,000 Bharatanatyam dancers performed together,
clinching the Guinness World Record for the largest Bharatanatyam dance lesson.
The event, organised by Sangamam Global Academy, India and Samgamizh Liya, Sri
Lanka, was held at Galle Face Green in Colombo and brought together thousands
of dancers from Sri Lanka.

Laundering Act (PMLA) in Mumbai.

In Maharashtra, eight devotees, including children died
after a pickup vehicle carrying them fell into a roadside well in Solapur
district this afternoon. Five injured were shifted to Pandharpur for treatment.
An investigation has been launched into the incident. Maharashtra Chief
Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed grief at the tragic accident. He also
announced an ex-gratia of 5 lakh rupees to the families of those who died in
the accident.

In Pakistan, seven people, including two children, were

Oil prices dropped on Sunday after President Donald Trump
said an agreement with Iran had been reached and the United States would end
its naval blockade on the country.
Brent crude prices on Sunday fell 3.9% to about $84 a
barrel, and US crude dropped 4.8% to about $81 a barrel. If oil settles at that
level, it will be the lowest price for crude since March 4, just a few days
into the war.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said India’s space economy is poised to grow
from the current 8 to 9 billion dollars to nearly
40 to 45 billion dollars over the next decade. Addressing a press
conference in New Delhi.
