Defense Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday met Director

The Ministry of Minority Affairs announced the Haj Policy
2027 on 22 June 2026. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju unveiled the policy, and
applications for Haj 2027 from India opened on the same day through the Haj
Committee of India portal and the Haj Suvidha App.
Gujarat announced a
20% reservation for former Agniveers in direct recruitment to Class III posts
in state government departments on 22 June 2026. The policy covers posts in the
state police armed units, the State Reserve Police Force, the jail department,
and the forest guard cadres.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs,
chaired by Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor, has begun a four-day study
visit to Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to review strategic border security and
foreign policy issues.
India has become the
World’s Top Ship Recycling Nation in the year 2025. The Ministry of Ports,
Shipping and Waterways said that as per the latest report by the United Nations
Conference on Trade and Development, India’s share of global ship recycling increased
to 35.4 per cent in 2025 from 30.1 per cent in 2024.
The Agnipath scheme is a recruitment model for the Indian
Armed Forces that inducts personnel as Agniveers for a fixed tenure. The scheme
was introduced in 2022 for recruitment into the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

West Bengal's first BJP-led government unveiled its full
state budget, featuring a Dearness Allowance (DA) hike to 38% for state
employees, 1 lakh new jobs, and the Rs 36,000 crore 'Annapurna Yojana'. The
state budget, presented by Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta, introduced Rs
3,000 stipends for jobless graduates and proposed setting up an AIIMS in North
Bengal alongside five new districts. It also laid heavy emphasis on
revitalizing the state's tea industry with the 'PM Cha Shramik Protsahan
Yojana'.

unregistered Madrasas regarding funding and curriculum.
REBEL GROUP of the
Trinamool Congress (TMC), led by Ritabrata Banerjee, held a "Special
Session" at Kolkata's Novotel Hotel. The rebel leaders declared a national working committee, named Arup Roy as the new chairperson,
and announced the suspension of Abhishek Banerjee, completely ousting Mamata
Banerjee from party leadership.

A 90-kilogram bronze statue of Maharshi Sushruta was

Fatal Qatar Gas Terminal Explosion: At least 13 workers,
including 12 Indian nationals, were killed following a severe "technical
accident" blast at a liquified natural gas (LNG) processing site in

commercial building in Lucknow, India. The blaze claimed the lives of at least
