The first batch of 26
Indian traders is expected to enter the Chinese territory of Tibet through

India
launched a hub-and-spoke aviation model on 25 June 2026 to improve

international destinations via New Delhi on an Air India Easy Connect flight.
Andhra
Pradesh approved the Policy on Reuse of Treated Used Water, 2026 on 26 June
2026 for urban bodies across the state. The policy covers 123 Urban Local
Bodies and creates a framework for collection, treatment, allocation, pricing,
monitoring, and reuse of treated wastewater.
The government announced the resumption of tourist visas for
Bangladeshi nationals starting June 28.

Land Act Scrapped: Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta
officially announced that the state will scrap the Urban Land Ceiling Act to
clear the path for big-ticket investments exceeding ₹1,000 crore.
AI Policy Launch: The government confirmed it will formally
unveil its AI Mission, alongside investment promotion frameworks, a startup
policy, and a cloud kitchen policy for women entrepreneurs ahead of the Durga
Puja festival.
Ayushman Bharat Expansion: Chief Minister Shuvendu Adhikari
finalized the rollout of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in West Bengal starting
July 2026. The existing Swasthya Sathi beneficiaries will be fully merged into
the central scheme.
Medical Infrastructure: The administration sent a proposal
to the Union government to set up a new AIIMS for North Bengal and establish
three new medical colleges in Alipurduar, Kalimpong, and South Dinajpur

Tariff Threats: U.S. President Donald Trump announced a
threat to levy a 100% tariff on any nation that imposes a digital services tax
on American technology firms.
Burkina Faso Severs French Relations: In a major diplomatic
shift in Africa, Burkina Faso has completely cut its diplomatic ties with its
former colonial ruler, France.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has declared that Beijing is
prepared to expand its flagship Belt and Road cooperation with Bangladesh
during his meeting with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in Beijing. The
announcement came as part of Rahman’s four‑day official visit to China. However—no MOU is
signed on ‘TISTA’, ‘NILMANIRHAT’ & ‘FIGHTERJET’. Tarique Rahman more or
less returned empty handed, by a Commercial Chinese Airlines.
GULF
NEWS:
The US military said it launched “powerful” strikes on Iran
in response to a Iranian drone attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz,
as explosions were reported in southern Iran’s Sirik.
The IRGC said the attack “violated” US commitments and
reiterated that the US-Iran MoU gave Tehran control over traffic in the Strait
of Hormuz.
Trump had earlier said that the Iranian drone attack on the
Ever Lovely cargo ship was “a foolish violation” of the deal.
Strait of Hormuz Shipping Dispute: Despite Iranian threats
and recent vessel attacks, 42 commercial ships successfully crossed the Strait
of Hormuz using an Omani passage.
Israel and Lebanon signed a “framework agreement”, which US
Secretary of State Marco Rubio described as a “first step” in negotiations,
after talks in Washington, DC.
Hezbollah supporters have gathered on motorcycles in the
Lebanese capital to protest the framework agreement between Israel and the
Lebanese government, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reports.
In terms of hard, cold
dollars, no one sector has benefitted more directly from the war except the OIL
& GAS (UPSTREAM) INDUSATRY, at one
point, Brent crude briefly touched $126 a barrel, its highest price in four
years. The price has since dropped to pre-war levels of about $72 per barrel. Saudi
Aramco’s first-quarter profits rose by 25 percent to $32.5bn compared with the
same period a year earlier.

Ram Temple Trust Investigation: Authorities in Ayodhya
arrested eight individuals linked to the alleged embezzlement of donations made
to the temple trust.
Security forces clashed with a group of Nihang Sikhs who
breached barricades at the Himachal-Uttarakhand border.
Gold Smuggling Ring Busted: The DRI dismantled a multi-city
smuggling ring, seizing ₹23 crore worth of gold and arresting 15 people.
Espionage Case: Jalandhar Police arrested three people for
an alleged Pakistan-linked spy network.
Punjab Police’s State Cyber Crime Division has frozen 63,749
bank accounts over the last one year which were linked to cyber fraud involving
transactions worth approximately Rs. 540.34 crore.

& MISHAPS: -
In Arunachal Pradesh, four labourers working at D&L
Stone Crusher Plant, near the Keyi Panyor District Welcome Gate, 12 km away
from Yazali, were injured due to a massive landslide while they were asleep in
their camps.
TaraTola Disaster Updates: The death toll from the
under-construction warehouse roof collapse in Kolkata's TaraTola rose to 16 as
intensive rescue operations continued for a third consecutive day.
Venezuela Earthquake Death Toll Hits 920: The casualty count
from the twin earthquakes has skyrocketed to 920 deaths and over 3,300
injuries. Foreign rescue teams are joining local operations to find survivors
trapped under the rubble, and a new 4.9-magnitude tremor has caused further
panic.
At least 920 people have died as a result of Wednesday’s
earthquakes in Venezuela, National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez said
Friday.
WEATHER:
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a
widespread advance of the Southwest Monsoon across eastern, northeastern, and
southern India today (Saturday, June 27, 2026), bringing heavy downpours, while
severe heatwave conditions stubbornly persist in parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Over the next three to four days, the monsoon is on track to
advance further into the remaining regions of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh,
Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, and portions of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
The national All
India Weather Forecast Bulletin has issued specific alerts across the country:
Extremely Heavy Rainfall Warning: A high-priority alert is
in place for Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from June 27 to June 29, with
high risks of localized waterlogging, flash floods, and landslides.
Heavy to Very Heavy Rain: Intense downpours are expected
across Northeast India (Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur,
Mizoram, and Tripura) alongside parts of Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, and Goa.
Thunderstorms & Gusty Winds: Winds ranging between 40–50
kmph (gusting up to 60 kmph) accompanied by lightning will strike isolated
pockets of Maharashtra (Vidarbha, Marathwada), Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gangetic

North & East India: Severe heatwave conditions continue
to hit East and West Uttar Pradesh, keeping day temperatures hovering between
40°C and 44°C.
Northwest India: Extreme heat remains locked in Western
Rajasthan with peaks near 45°C, though Eastern Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, and
Haryana are beginning to see a transition with cloud cover and isolated dust
storms or light thunder activities.
Central & Western India: Maximum temperatures are
expected to scale up slightly by 2°C to 4°C across Maharashtra and Central
India over the next 48 hours before entering a gradual cooling phase as monsoon
currents lock in.

Global investment bank Goldman Sachs has raised India’s real
GDP growth forecast to 6.8 per cent for calendar year 2026, from its earlier
estimate of 6.5 per cent, citing easing oil prices and improving domestic
economic conditions.
The Reserve Bank of India issued draft proposals on 25 June
2026 to widen participation in India’s term money market. The draft framework
covers non-banking financial companies, including mortgage providers, All India
Financial Institutions, and companies, with changes in borrowing, lending,
market hours, and reporting rules.
