यतो धर्मस्ततो जयः"

The Sanskrit phrase "यतो धर्मस्ततो जयः" (Yato Dharmastato Jayaḥ) from the Mahabharata translates to "Where there is Dharma (righteousness/justice), there is Victory". It is a well-known verse with 13 occurrences in the epic, associated with the principle that moral conduct triumphs.

1. MAN KI BAAT:

 The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has shared highlights from his address at the 134th Episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

Prime Minister today lauded several citizens for their outstanding contributions towards nature conservation, solving local problems and other social causes, highlighting their inspiring initiatives and achievements.

(a)  Highlighted the efforts of Saji Ji from Keralam, who is training future swimmers!

(b)  All across India, there are numerous clubs and societies making astronomy popular among the youth. I am proud of every such effort : PM Modi said.

(c)  “A dolphin rescue ambulance in Uttar Pradesh is doing commendable work and giving an important message of caring for those we share our planet with.

(d)  People like Akash Gupta Ji from Uttar Pradesh and Balakrishna Aiya Ji from Goa are at the forefront of water conservation, thus giving a vital message of sustainability.

(e)  India’s mangoes and mango diversity certainly deserve a special mention!

2. The Election Commission has said that enumeration under Phase-III of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) began yesterday in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim and Manipur.

3.  In Maharashtra, the ruling Mahayuti alliance today finalized its seat-sharing formula for the upcoming Legislative Council elections for 17 seats. Under the agreement, the BJP will contest 11 seats, Shiv Sena 4 seats, and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) 2 seats.

4.  Nagaland is set to strengthen tobacco control measures by introducing tobacco vendor licensing rules and enhancing enforcement across the state.

5.  Marking a significant milestone in urban livelihood development, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and Power, Manohar Lal, distributed PM SVANidhi loan cheques and QR-coded credit cards to street vendors at a mega event celebrating “6 Years of PM SVANidhi”.

This is collateral-free working capital loans to street vendors in three progressive stages: ₹15,000, ₹25,000, and ₹50,000.

6.  The Bharatiya Janata Party has secured a clear majority in three of the four municipal corporations in Himachal Pradesh. Counting of votes for the municipal corporation elections, held on May 17, was completed yesterday.

7.  Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis yesterday paid tributes to Punya Shlok Rajmata Ahilyadevi Holkar on her 301st birth anniversary.

8.  In Uttarakhand, the Kedarnath Yatra has been temporarily halted in the Rudraprayag district due to continuous rainfall since late last night and an Orange Alert has been issued by the India Meteorological Department.

9.  The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has said an expert team of cyber security professionals from various government agencies and Indian Institutes of Technology has been deployed to secure the On Mark portal, which is its On-Screen Marking (OSM) system utilised for evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets.

10.  General N. S. Raja Subramani has formally assumed charge as India’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), succeeding General Anil Chauhan. Admiral Krishna Swaminathan assumed charge as the 27th Chief of the Naval Staff. He succeeds Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi.

BENGAL FILES:

Massive Swearing-In: Chief Minister  Adhikari is executing a major cabinet expansion today, with 35 ministers taking the oath of office.

Expanded Cabinet: This addition pushes the total cabinet strength to 41 members. The incoming roster heavily prioritizes regional representation and community balance following the BJP's success in the 2026 state assembly elections.

Governor's Statement: West Bengal Governor R.N. Ravi publicly dismissed opposition criticism regarding the political transition, stating that election outcomes are only questioned by those who lose.

Abhishek (TMC--MP) mobbed in Sonarpur when he attempted to kick start political activity. The drama ended in tragedy with raining of rotten eggs, and ‘CHOR CHOR’ slogan.

Kalyan Banerjee (TMC--MP) also met with similar public ire at Hooghly.

6 persons arrested in the incident  found to have no political connection. People only showed their spontaneous hatred to TMC.

Local villagers violently raided  the party office of TMC MP Bapi Halder, citing rage over THE ILLEGAL HOARDING OF FLOOD RELIEF MATERIALS.

I suggest unless there is some deep physical injury to victims, these incidences  shall be treated as general spontaneous public reaction, and drama by victims. Shall be ignored by administration. BJP Leaders shall appeal to the public to remain peaceful, and oppositions not to indulge in inciting  ‘DRAMA’.  The victims were having state protection being MP.

IRAN WAR:

Five people lost their lives after a commercial building collapsed near Saket Metro Station in South Delhi.

In Himachal Pradesh, all eight occupants of a vehicle that plunged into a deep gorge in Chamba district have been confirmed dead. The accident took place on the Bairagarh-Sach Pass-Killar road in the remote Churah subdivision. I drove on this road while travelling SACH-PASS. A hell of a road!!

In Maharashtra, death toll in the Pune’s spurious liquor tragedy has risen to 21. The victims include seven people from Pune city and 14 from the Pimpri-Chinchwad and Uruli Kanchan areas.

Hyderabad– Kakinada bus catches fire in Nalgonda, 36 passengers escaped unhurt.

In Myanmar, more than 45 people were killed in a blast at a building in the northeastern part of the country that was reportedly storing explosives used for mining.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall over Gujarat, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and West Madhya Pradesh.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm forecast in 21 Telangana districts for Monday, June 1.
