Central Government circulated The Public Examinations (Prevention of
Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, which

Organized Crime Syndicates: Rackets driving large-scale

prison.

India and 16 other nations over alleged inadequate enforcement of forced labor
bans.

Fast-Track Judicial Pipeline:
To resolve delayed cases, the bill introduces dedicated
legal timelines to eliminate typical courtroom backlogs:
60-Day Investigation Cap: All enforcement agencies or newly formed Special Task
Forces (STF) are legally required to conclude all paper leak investigations
within 60 days.
Special Fast-Track Courts: Designated local Sessions Courts
will conduct trials on a continuous, day-to-day basis. Trials must be fully
completed within three months of the chargesheet being filed.
Strict Adjournment Limits: Judges cannot grant case
adjournments beyond the following day unless exceptional, explicitly written
reasons are provided.
Fast-Track Appeals: Appeals regarding bail or sentences must
be processed within 30 days and will be decisively resolved by a two-judge High
Court Division Bench within a three-month period.

Pralhad Joshi was appointed as the new Union Education

Chief Minister Shuvendu

of their exclusive financial signing powers, temporarily converting them to

CAG Reports Tabled: State Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta
tabled 28 volumes of long-delayed Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports
before the House. He cited the past non-presentation as a severe

The Afghan government has announced that a total of 14,539
Afghan refugee families returned to the country from neighbouring Pakistan and
Iran over the past month. The total number of returned Afghan refugee families
has reached 97,277. The majority of the returnees came from Pakistan.

WAR:
US President says Iran is in talks with the US and he is
willing to listen, during a speech at the annual correspondents’ dinner in
Washington, DC, on Friday.
The US military says 16 commercial vessels that are “trying
to run” Iran’s blockade have been stopped. “As of July 25, CENTCOM has
redirected 12 commercial vessels trying to run the blockade, disabled two that
didn’t comply, and boarded two to ensure total compliance,” CENTCOM said.
Iran strongly condemns a Ukrainian attack on an Iranian
commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea.
Saudi Arabia has launched strikes on Yemen’s Houthi-held
city of Hodeidah and Kamaran Island.
Israeli military raids and settler attacks are spreading
across the occupied West Bank, in areas around Hebron, Nablus and Tulkarem.
Israeli forces have also targeted the villages of Kafr Tebnit, Misra, Beit
Yahoun and Kunin in southern Lebanon.
In Gaza, Israel has
launched a new wave of air strikes, killed at least six Palestinians Jihadis and
injured seven others. At least 20 have been wounded by Israeli gunfire, medical

An IRGC spokesman has told Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB

Law enforcement authorities at Lucknow station detained a
female passenger traveling on a Delhi-bound train after discovering smuggled
gold bars worth over ₹7 crore in her possession.
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Friday announced that
it has provisionally attached movable and immovable assets worth approximately
₹1,906 crore belonging to Games Kraft Technologies Pvt. Ltd., its shareholders,
and associated entities in connection with a money-laundering case.
A Delhi court on Friday (July 24) denied bail toe
paediatrician Manoj Shirur, one of the accused in the 2026 NEET-UG paper leak
case, noting that the leak had caused “disrepute to the nation”. First suspend his Degree Certificate, and Registration.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday (July 24, 2026)
conducted raids in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Punjab as part of a
money-laundering investigation into a ₹450-crore bank loan fraud case. The
