The Delhi
Government approved a vehicle fleet renewal initiative named PARIVARTAN –
Programme for Accelerated Renewal and Incentivization of Vehicle Assets for
Reducing Transport Air Pollution and Network Emissions. The scheme aims to
replace old and high-emission trucks and buses in Delhi-National Capital Region
with cleaner Bharat Stage (BS)-VI compliant and electric vehicles (EVs).
Bihar
Government has decided to reopen the closed sugar mills at Raiyam in Darbhanga
and Sakri in Madhubani. The proposal was approved at a meeting of the Council
of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
Union Home
Minister Amit Shah spoke with Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and
reviewed the ongoing relief efforts in the wake of the devastating floods in
Upper Assam.
The Central
Railway will run 246 Ganpati Special trains from 11th to 27th September for the
benefit of Ganpati devotees. These include 184 reserved services connecting
Mumbai and Pune with Sawantwadi Road, Ratnagiri and Madgaon, and 62 unreserved
services between Diva and Khed. Booking for reserved trains will open from 1st
August at all counters and on the IRCTC website.
Madhya
Pradesh Police’s ‘Nashe se Doori Hai Jaruri 2.0’ campaign has created a new
world record, with the Indore Police Commissionerate administering an online
anti-drug pledge to 1,75,451 people simultaneously. The achievement has been recognized
by the World Book of Records, London.
The Central
Government on Tuesday informed the Lok Sabha that projects worth Rs. 154.57
crore have been approved for Jammu and Kashmir under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya
Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) to strengthen fisheries infrastructure, boost fish
production and improve the livelihoods of fishermen.

Registration
of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2026 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on
29 July 2026 by Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai. The Bill seeks to
amend the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 and to regulate delayed
registration of births and deaths through stricter procedural requirements.
Andhra
Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed the collectors to ensure
that all the crops sown get insurance coverage. There are indications that the
El Nino effect could persist throughout the year, he said. He asked the
ministers and their supporting staff to constantly visit the fields. He
suggested that an El Nino Control room should be set up to monitor the effect.
The
Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration, FDA, has banned the sale,
advertisement and free distribution of processed and packaged foods and drinks
high in fat, sugar and salt within 50 meters of school premises.

Janta Party’s (CJP) Telangana unit on Wednesday said it would now shift its

In the
early hours of Wednesday, three Kanwar pilgrims were killed and three others
seriously injured on the Chaudhary Charan Singh Kanwar Route in Ghaziabad's
Niwari area, Uttar Pradesh. The victims, from Alwar, Rajasthan, were travelling
to Haridwar in a newly purchased Bolero pickup when it collided head-on with a
truck.

School Van Crash: A horrific accident took place around 8:00 AM on Dahod Road
in Banswara, Rajasthan. A school van packed with 15 students rammed into a
stationary truck parked on the roadside, killing one student and injuring 14
others (with three listed in serious condition).

Thane Truck
Divider Crash: A commercial truck carrying lime powder lost control and crashed
