Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp’ Abhiyan today through video conferencing. The launch will mark the beginning of a 100-week nationwide Jan Bhagidari campaign against substance abuse. Youth across the country from over 10 thousand locations will participate in the programme.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Greenfield Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh yesterday. Built under the Public-Private Partnership mode at a cost of over 5,640 crore rupees, the airport has the capacity to handle six million passengers annually.

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma yesterday launched the first disbursement of Orunodoi 3.0 for the financial year 2026-27, facilitating the transfer of monthly financial assistance to more than 37 lakh women beneficiaries across the state through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The online registration portal for the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana has opened for registration from yesterday. So far, in the last 12 hours more than 33 thousand registrations have been done and one thousand 940 applications have been finally submitted. Under the scheme, eligible women will receive financial assistance of 2 thousand five hundred rupees every month.

Over eighty five lakh eighty one thousand nine hundred twenty enumeration forms across the national capital have been digitized as of Saturday. According to the Office of Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi, about one crore forty-five lakh forms have been distributed as part of Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Delhi.

Arunachal Pradesh Government has rolled out the e-Bhavishya Pension Sanction and Tracking System, a paperless platform to streamline pension processing and ensure timely retirement benefits for government employees.

Indian Railways has approved the extension of daily Ludhiana-Jakhal Passenger Train up to Jind to strengthen regional rail connectivity. The Railways Ministry said that the decision will provide direct rail connectivity between Ludhiana and Jind, benefiting daily commuters, students, office-goers, traders and passengers travelling between Punjab and Haryana.

TWO FOOTED COCKROACHES of INDIA:

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has shifted its immediate strategy to nationwide grassroots organization and legal protection for its members. Because of unexpected state-level crackdowns and arrests over the last week, the party's upcoming plan revolves around handling legal standoffs and preparing for future mobilizations.

Because mass student arrests and detentions continue across BJP-led states like West Bengal, Bihar, and Assam, the CJP's legal cell is actively collaborating with regional attorneys to secure bail for detained volunteers.

Demand for Written Immunity: CJP spokesperson Saurav Das stated the party is actively pressuring the Centre for a formal, written decree guaranteeing complete immunity. They have warned that if state-level police harassment and active FIRs are not immediately scrapped, the CJP will break its truce and resume mass street demonstrations.

Shifting Focus to Nationwide Grassroots Building &Expanding Beyond New Delhi: The CJP is actively moving away from being a single-location protest to establishing a permanent, decentralized presence across multiple cities. Organizers plan to tour key educational and student hubs to build regional youth committees.

Rejecting Conventional Electoral Politics: Addressing rumours of transitioning into a mainstream political entity, the leadership clarified they have no immediate plans to register as an official electoral party to contest elections. Instead, their plan is to function as a permanent, non-aligned pressure group. Their goal is to force whatever political party is in power to fulfil youth mandates.

Structural Education Reform Consultations-Drafting a Stakeholder Agenda: The party is launching a series of open stakeholder discussions involving students, educators, and legal experts.

The Goal: To convert their initial anti-paper-leak anger into a formal, structured legislative proposal aimed at overhauling India's examination systems. This will form the backbone of their five-point civic charter.

Leadership Health Update--Temporary Regrouping: The movement's next steps face a minor logistical delay as CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was hospitalized and diagnosed with severe typhoid fever. In a video message to supporters, Dipke confirmed he is undergoing intensive medical care but emphasized that his recovery period will not slow down the party's behind-the-scenes legal and organizational activities.

1.-Security: Terror Plot Targeting CM Thwarted.

High-Value Arrests: The West Bengal Special Task Force (STF) arrested Hamim Mondal in Burdwan, alongside his associate Arpita Sarkar, who was tracked down and detained in Sahibganj, Jharkhand. Investigators are currently searching for four additional key suspects linked to the module.

The Plot: STF investigators revealed Mondal was operating under direct instructions from Pakistan-based terror operatives (including the Shehzad Bhatti gang). He was tasked with actively monitoring the security movements of Chief Minister Shuvendu Adhikari to identify lapses.

Sabotage Plan: The network also aimed to procure police uniforms to infiltrate and instigate mass violence at recent student demonstrations at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Mondal has been remanded to 14 days of strict police custody.

Cross-border trade between India and China through the Nathu La pass in Sikkim has resumed from yesterday, ending a suspension of more than six years.

India and Germany are close to finalising the ₹90,000‑crore Project‑75I submarine deal, but no contract has yet been signed. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned of a decisive response to any US strikes against the country during phone calls with Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Iran’s foreign ministry warned nations in the Gulf region against allowing the US and Israel to use their territory to carry out attacks on the country.

Trump said he is “destroying Iran’s currency” in a post on Truth Social. He shared a chart purporting to show Iran’s currency, the rial, weakening under a header stating: “Iran is experiencing massive inflation”.

The Iraqi government issued a statement affirming the readiness of its armed forces to “thwart any attempts at targeting neighbouring countries within our regional sphere”.

Iran launched drone attacks on Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, with the drones reportedly intercepted, according to the Rojava news channel.

The Israeli army claimed its troops killed several Hezbollah fighters in the Ali al-Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon.

Palestinian political figure Mohammed Dahlan says an agreement to halt Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip is due to take effect on Sunday morning.

CRIME & PUNISHMENT:

The Agartala Sub-Zonal Office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached bank deposits worth approximately 1.12 crore rupees under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in connection with an alleged money laundering case.

In a major crackdown against organised smuggling networks, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized foreign-origin gold, narcotic drugs, prohibited wildlife products, e-cigarettes, and other contraband. The Ministry of Finance informed that the operations led to the arrest of 20 persons, including five foreign nationals.

MISHAPS: -

1.-Rain-Triggered Disasters & Landslides:

Massive Cloudbursts in Jammu & Kashmir: A series of heavy cloudbursts struck the Rajouri and Poonch districts, unleashing destructive flash floods. At least 10 people were killed and eight remain missing. The raging waters washed away over 20 vehicles, heavily damaged dozens of homes, and completely submerged local bus stands.

Deadly Monsoon Deluge in Kerala: Intense, cloudburst-like rain over the weekend triggered severe landslides and flash floods across hilly regions, killing at least eight people. In Kottayam's Payyanithottam area, a powerful landslide entirely buried a home, killing a mother and her son. Six fishermen are also reported missing in the Arabian Sea amid the hostile weather conditions.

National Highway Landslips: In Uttarakhand, a major landslide and severe rockfalls completely blocked traffic on National Highway 107A near Tunganath. Meanwhile, in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, rolling boulders suddenly crashed down the hillside, critically injuring two motorcyclists.

2.- Fatal Road and Transit Accidents:

Fatal Double Crash in Thrissur: In Kerala, three people lost their lives in two separate dawn accidents. In the major incident near Ollur, an autorickshaw driver and his passenger were killed on the spot when their vehicle was crushed in a multi-vehicle pileup involving a lorry and a tourist bus.

SUV Plunge in Kullu: A speeding SUV lost control on a treacherous mountain bend in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, and plunged 20 feet into a rocky gorge, leaving two occupants dead and three others severely injured.

3. Structural & Infrastructure Failures:

Hospital Wall Collapse in Pune: Heavy monsoon showers triggered the collapse of a major concrete boundary wall inside the premises of Bharati Hospital in Dhankawadi, Pune. The structure crushed and trapped 40 to 50 two-wheelers beneath the heavy debris. Miraculously, no human casualties or injuries were reported.

Factory Boiler Explosion in North 24 ParganasA severe industrial accident occurred at a manufacturing facility in North 24 Parganas district. A high-pressure boiler explosion inside the plant resulted in one fatality and caused extensive damage to the processing unit. State factory inspectors are evaluating structural damage and checking for compliance lapses.

4.-  In Peru, 13 people were killed after a tourist plane crashed into a field near the city of Nazca.

5.- Renowned Nepali mountaineer Nirmal Purja, who captivated the world with his record-breaking ascent of all 14 of the planet’s 8,000-metre peaks in just over six months, died in an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan occupied territory of Gilgit-Baltistan. He was 43.

Purja was among a 10-member expedition team attempting to summit Broad Peak when an avalanche struck on last Thursday.

ENVIRONMENTAL: -

In Keralam, incessant heavy rain has caused widespread havoc, triggering landslides and severe waterlogging across the state. The India Meteorological Department has issued a Red Alert for nine districts and an Orange Alert for five districts. Six rain-related deaths have been reported today from Kottayam, Idukki, and Malappuram districts.

Continuous rainfall across Maharashtra has led to a sharp rise in the water levels of rivers, streams, and lakes, with water entering homes in several low-lying areas due to flooding.

Central India: Red & Orange Alerts (Highest Priority)A deep monsoon depression moving across the central plains is triggering widespread, extreme rainfall.

Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh: A Red Alert is active for western Madhya Pradesh and northern Chhattisgarh. Expect extremely heavy rainfall exceeding 20 cm, causing severe waterlogging and flash floods in urban and rural pockets.

Vidarbha (Maharashtra) & Odisha: Placed under an Orange Alert. Intense, continuous downpours are expected to disrupt road connectivity and significantly swell local river levels.

North & Northwest India: Widespread Heavy Rain.

The monsoon trough is interacting with a western disturbance, bringing steady, heavy precipitation to the northern belt.

Uttar Pradesh & Rajasthan: East Rajasthan and western Uttar Pradesh are under an Orange Alert. Cities like Jaipur, Ajmer, and Agra are bracing for heavy traffic delays due to waterlogged roads.

Himalayan Region (Uttarakhand & Himachal Pradesh): Under a Yellow Alert. Moderate to heavy rain increases the active risk of localized cloudbursts, mudslides, and falling rocks along national highways. Travelers are advised to avoid non-essential hill travel today.

Delhi-NCR: Overcast skies with a high humidity of 80%. Expect light to moderate scattered showers late in the afternoon, keeping temperatures hovering around 32°C to 34°C.3. East & Northeast India: Continuous Foothill Downpours

Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim & Assam: An Orange Alert is active across the northeastern foothills. Widespread, heavy monsoon rain (7–11 cm) continues to impact Assam and northern Bengal, maintaining high flood-alert levels along the Brahmaputra river channels.
