The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has

Biometric Updates, completing more than two crore biometric updates for school

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that Provincial
Armed Guard (PRD) personnel and their families will get free treatment up to Rs
5 lakh annually and also have their daily duty allowance increased. Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath, announced the
fourth increase at the PRD personnel conference in Gorakhpur and said PRD
personnel will now receive a daily duty allowance of rupees 600 instead of
rupees 500.
Himachal Pradesh government is planning to decrease the
number of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Forest Service (IFS), and
Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in the state. A

Asia’s first ever desert night safari set to be built in the

The Indian Coast
Guard’s Daman Air Station conducted a swift operation to save the lives of nine
fishermen who were stuck in a sinking boat. According to an official press
release, the station received a distress call and immediately launched a Chetak
helicopter to the location. The rescue operation was conducted successfully,
bringing all fishermen to safety.

High Court Dispute Over Opposing Leadership--Judicial
Verdict: The Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court deliberated on a highly
monitored regional political dispute to legally determine whether Ritabrata
Banerjee or Shovandeb Chatterjee commands official status as the Leader of the
Opposition. In my opinion—this matter is beyond the
Jurisdiction of HC. Speaker & EC has full & final Jurisdiction over the conflicts. Judiciary can’t
enter into the temple of ‘LEGISLATION’— members elected by people, and decide
matters. Worse comes to worst—FLOOR TEST IS THE LAST RESORT,MAJORITY DECIDES.
Administrative Decisions & Protests: New Medical

GULF
WAR:
On August 18, 2026, Al Jazeera reported on the escalating
US-Iran conflict in the Gulf.
Iran said that the
Strait of Hormuz will remain closed to maritime traffic until all Iranian
conditions under the 14-point Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the
US are fully met.
Qatar rejected Iranian claims regarding detained bomber
pilots,
UAE detected ballistic missiles fired toward Gulf shipping,
US President Donald Trump rejected extending the expired
US-Iran MoU.
Qatari-Iranian Tensions: Qatar officially rejected Tehran's
"false" claims that Doha was detaining missing Iranian bomber pilots,
stating that the Iranian planes had violated Qatari sovereignty.
Missile Dangers in the Gulf: The UAE reported and detected
two ballistic missiles launched from Iran targeting Gulf shipping lanes, an
allegation that Tehran dismissed.
Trump's Stance on Talks: President Trump ruled out near-term
negotiations or an extension of the temporary agreement with Iran, as tensions
over the control and status of the Strait of Hormuz spiked.
Regional Fallout: Broader regional frictions continued
alongside the ongoing naval and trade restrictions affecting Iranian ports and

BALOCH-AFGHAN-PAKISTAN
NEWS:
Nine militants were killed by Pakistani security forces
during intensified intelligence-based operations across the Ziarat, Harnai, and
Surab districts of Balochistan. Concurrently, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA)
released an official statement claiming responsibility for 22 coordinated
regional attacks.
BLA Insurgent Offensive Claim of 26 Fatalities: The BLA, via
its spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, published a comprehensive breakdown claiming
they killed 26 Pakistani military and government-backed paramilitary personnel
between August 9 and August 15.
Infrastructure Sabotage: The group detailed 22 distinct
operations targeting police installations, military outposts, and logistical
lifelines. These included detonating a police checkpoint in Kharan, ambushing
an Eagle Squad unit in Quetta, and seizing commercial transport vehicles along
the Quetta-Taftan trade highway in Chagai.
IED Warfare: This follows a recent improvised explosive
device (IED) blast targeting a civilian logistics vehicle carrying water
pipeline infrastructure in Quetta, which left two civilians dead.
Transborder Conflict: War with Afghanistan Active Frontline:
Pakistan remains engaged in a transborder war with Afghanistan. The hostilities
broke out following cross-border Pakistani airstrikes targeting militant
strongholds in eastern Afghanistan, prompting military retaliation.
Artillery Movement: Reports note that Pakistan has moved
over 200 SH-15 howitzer artillery guns closer to the Indian border, raising
tactical alerts among Indian border Défense units.
CRIME
& PUNISHMENT:
Terror Network Busts: Indian agencies recently thwarted a
massive Pakistan-ISI "Bleed India" cartel. The multi-state operation
led to over 250 arrests, breaking up a network that used social media to
recruit local criminals to target military bases and infrastructure.
The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Delhi Government has
arrested former Minister and AAP leader Satyendar Kumar Jain, IAS officer and
former CEO of Delhi Jal Board Udit Prakash Rai and four others accused persons
in connection with irregularities and criminal conspiracy in the tendering
process relating to augmentation and upgradation of Sewage Treatment Plants of
the Delhi Jal Board.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday
targeted Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke, alleging that he
is an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker trying to portray himself as a student
leader amid the youth-led protests at Jantar Mantar.

In Uttarakhand, three people died today after debris fell
onto a house in Mehragaon village of Pauri district. Rescue teams recovered all
three bodies after conducting a search and rescue operation.
Meanwhile, the bodies of two workers who had been missing
since the tunnel accident in Pipalkoti of Chamoli district, on 13th of this
month were also recovered yesterday.

earthquake struck off Nias Island in Indonesia’s North Sumatra province. No
casualties or property damage have been reported so far.

Severe Rainfall & Disruption in Bankura Infrastructure
Collapse: Torrential rainfall caused severe waterlogging, submerging major
state highways across Bankura district of West Bengal.
IMD has forecast very heavy to moderate rainfall conditions today almost all over
