National Security & Diplomacy:

India-China Border Talks: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a fresh round of formal boundary discussions in Beijing. DELHI FLIGHT STATUS:

Delhi Airport (IGIA) Status –Summary Cancellations & Delays: Over 15 flights were cancelled and more than 90 services severely delayed following an intense morning downpour. This follows extreme aviation backlogs where over 400 flights faced compounding cascading delays.

Active Diversions: At least 15 inbound flights—including multiple international routes—were forced to divert away from Delhi due to low visibility and heavy crosswinds.

Diversion Hubs: Diverted aircraft were rerouted primarily to Jaipur (12 flights), Chandigarh (2 flights), and Lucknow (1 flight).

Above may have a CASCADI(NG EFFECT. Passengers are strictly advised to verify their live digital flight status before leaving for the terminal.

BENGAL FILES:

The Supreme Court of India directed the Election Commission to submit an affidavit detailing the exact count of inclusion and exclusion appeals concerning the state's electoral rolls following the special intensive revision (SIR).

The West Bengal government announced the creation of “Arjun Bahini,” a new disaster-response force modelled on the NDRF that will recruit Agniveers.

Chief Minister Shuvendu  Adhikari stated the unit will begin operations in September, with a 20% reservation set for Agniveers in state departments like police, forest, and fire services.

CAA Citizenship Certificates:  The state administration was formally empowered by the Centre to execute hearings and distribute citizenship certificates under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).Officials reported that 23,000 certificates have been issued out of roughly 2.30 lakh applications received.

Unidentified gunmen riding motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire on a road construction site in the Saranan Sulemanzai town of Balochistan's Pishin district.
