In a highly provocative move, Trump shared a map on social media depicting the Strait of Hormuz as "new U.S. territory". He claimed that since the U.S. military successfully cleared the waterway of Iranian sea mines, the U.S. effectively exercises sovereignty over it.

Emergency helicopters are currently prioritizing food drops and medicine deliveries to completely isolated pockets like Dhunche, Rasuwa, and Syaphru Besi.
