INDI-ALLIANCE convened a meeting today, at Constitution Club of India.

According to reports from Press Trust of India and ANI, key participants and member parties at the deliberations included:

• Indian National Congress (INC): Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, K.C. Venugopal

• All India Trinamool Congress (AITC / TMC): Mamata Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee

• Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC): Omar Abdullah

OUTCOME OF THE MEETING: (COMMENTS MARKED IN RED)

The meeting of the INDIA bloc leaders at the Constitution Club of India concluded with a coordinated multi-point action plan targeting the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The primary outcomes and resolutions finalized during the meeting include:

• Demand for CEC's Resignation: The alliance reached a consensus to demand the immediate resignation and ouster of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar over alleged poll impropriety and irregularities.

COMMENT: NO DOCUMENT YET BROUGHT OUT BY THEM ON THE ALLEGATIONS.

• Parliamentary Removal Motion: Leaders reviewed a draft notice to jointly move a fresh motion for the removal of the CEC in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Despite acknowledging they lack the necessary numbers for a successful impeachment, the bloc resolved to move forward to demonstrate unity and highlight electoral integrity issues.

COMMENT: IT CAN ONLY BE DONE BY IMPEACHMENT. OPPOSITION DON’T HAVE REQUISITE NUMBER OF MPS.

• Opposition to the Voter Roll Revision: The alliance collectively opposed the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls in 12 states and union territories. They alleged irregularities in the exercise—including the deletion of genuine voters—and demanded an immediate suspension of the SIR until names are restored.

COMMENT: DEMAND OF SUSPENSION OF PROCESS IS ILLEGITIMATE. ALLEGATION OF IRREGULARITIES SHALL BE SUBSTANTIATED.

• Joint Agitation Roadmap: The member parties finalized an action plan for a nationwide joint agitation and coordinated demonstrations across the country to corner the government on election-related controversies, including the "Form 6" row and legal immunity rules.

COMMENT: IF THE AGITATION BECOMES VIOLENT, POLICE ACTION WILL TAKE PLACE.

• Unity Showcase: Despite individual regional differences and the absence of a few parties like AAP and DMK from this specific sitting, the constituent leaders reiterated that the opposition alliance stands firmly united to protect constitutional processes from unilateral government actions.

COMMENT: MOST OF ATTENDEES ARE LAGGARDS. THEY CAN’T INFLUENCE THE OPINION OF PEOPLE.

REVIEW:

1.0  It is observed that the opposition has not taken any ‘LEGAL ROUTE’.

2.0  Excepting some meetings, and processions in Kolkata, and Delhi—I don’t think they are going to do anything. Those will have no impact.
