Market
outlook Today – We expect the domestic equity market to open on a positive
note, supported by the rally in global markets, declining global bond yields,
and expectations of a delay in the US Federal Reserve’s interest-rate hike.
Domestic service-sector growth in August also remained strong, reaching a
15-month high. Asian markets opened up to 2% higher as sentiment improved
following dovish comments from a US Federal Reserve Governor, who indicated
that interest rates could remain unchanged if inflationary pressures continue
to ease. Global bond yields also declined sharply amid expectations of a
delayed rate hike by the Fed. Back home, Gift Nifty is trading 0.2% higher.
While the Nifty declined 0.2% yesterday, the broader market witnessed a strong rally,
with both mid-cap and small-cap indices gaining up to 1%. Expect the positive
momentum in mid- and small-cap stocks to continue, driven by strong quarterly
performance and robust capital expenditure. Furthermore, strong Q1 GDP growth
of 7.8%, resilient global markets, and declining global bond yields are
expected to further improve market sentiment. At the sectoral level, the
outlook remains positive for NBFCs, IT, capital-market companies, and cable
& wire stocks.
Sector-wise outlook:
Focus on

DIIs – DIIs
were net buyers Rs4977cr. DIIs were net buyers Rs9637cr this month
Previous Day Market Summary – Equity benchmark
Nifty closed marginally lower amid profit booking above the 24,000 level, as
escalating geopolitical tensions between the US and Iran and a surge in crude
oil prices to a one-month high above $96/bbl weighed on market sentiment.
However, broader markets witnessed a smart rally, led by strong gains in
mid-cap, small-cap and realty stocks. The Nifty 500 advance-decline ratio stood
at 1.5:1, indicating a shift in investor interest from large-cap stocks towards
mid- and small-cap counters. Nifty declined 40 points, or 0.2%, to close at
23,873 after touching an intra-day high of 24,010.
Nifty
Technical level – Nifty formed a bearish candle on the daily frame and closed
near its lower band. Now till it holds below 24000 zones weakness could extend
towards 23700 then 23600 levels while on the upside hurdles can be seen at
24100 then 24200 zones.
Bank Nifty
Technical Level – Bank Nifty formed a bearish candle on the daily chart,
indicating selling pressure continues to remain visible at higher levels. Now
if it holds below 76300 zones, weakness could be seen towards 75800 then 75500
zones while hurdles have shifted lower to 76500 then 76700 zones.
