INDIA,CHINA, & NEPAL are working together in rescue operations.  Nepal has formally requested Belly Bridges and high-capacity drones from China and Singapore, alongside specialized LiDAR mapping gear from the United States to peer beneath the hardened mud layers.

The primary, high-stakes focus of the operation is reaching to an estimated 639 to 933 workers believed to be trapped inside completely mud-clogged tunnels across a dozen ruined hydroelectric power plants.

Pre-emptive U.S. Strike: Breaking a month-long lull in direct hostilities, the U.S. military launched air strikes on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. Central Command confirmed targeting two Iranian rocket launchers that were being prepared to deploy sea mines into shipping lanes.

Tehran's Retaliation: In response, Iran launched waves of drones and missiles. Jordan's armed forces reported shooting down eight missiles entering its airspace, while the UAE intercepted drones launched toward its territorial waters.

The National Cybercrime Threat Analytics Unit of Ministry of Home Affairs has advised people against a rise in financial frauds through malicious Android applications masquerading as pornography apps. The Ministry said that these applications are being circulated mainly through advertisements on Facebook and Instagram under names such as Night Play, Reloop, Kyss, Vimo, Rivo, Nexo and Vixa, among other similar variants.

Supreme Court Rejections: The Supreme Court refused to halt a massive protest march planned by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in New Delhi ahead of the upcoming BRICS summit. It also junked a petition demanding mandatory disclosures of ethanol blends at fuel pumps. THUS, SC APPROVED A DISRUPTIVE LICENCE TO PROTEST AND CAUSE NUISSANCE TO AN INTERNATIONAL SUMMIT TO SHOW THE GOI IN POOR LIGHT TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY. MISHAPS: -

A massive explosion entirely levelled an authorized firecracker manufacturing facility in Manori village, Uttar Pradesh. Five critically injured workers who were rushed to the SRN Hospital in Prayagraj succumbed to their injuries during emergency treatment.

A massive fire broke out at the "Sealdah Food Express" situated right at the busy entrance of the Sealdah railway station’s South section. The blaze erupted during the peak morning office rush, sending thick black smoke billowing across the transit hub.

Safety Violations Exposed: At least three fire engines broke through the glass walls of the plaza to vent the smoke. No injuries or train disruptions were reported, but authorities immediately suspended the eatery's licence after discovering that its internal fire extinguishers were completely non-functional.

A massive explosion occurred at a firecracker manufacturing unit near the Prayagraj–Kaushambi border in Uttar Pradesh on 31 August 2026. The blast was extremely powerful and destroyed the factory building and several nearby houses. The latest reports say 11 people died.

 The M72 carbine, crafted by the Bangalore-based defence firm SSS  Defence, represents a significant milestone in domestic arms production.
