Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat and
Maharashtra today. In Vadodara, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation
stones, inaugurate and dedicate to THE NATION various development projects
worth more than 35 thousand crore rupees. He will also dedicate to the nation
three important sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC),

Union Minister of State for
Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi said that the Centre has asked the
Oil Marketing Companies OMCs to uniformly implement the revised LPG refill
booking interval of 25 days in both urban and rural areas immediately.
The state police will add four stations each in Hyderabad,
Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City Commissionerate to meet the demands of

Cabinet Approvals
& Assembly Special Session--Salary Hikes: The West Bengal Cabinet
officially approved a remuneration hike benefiting over one lakh contractual
and temporary staff members across 14 distinct employee brackets. Special
Sitting: The CM announced a one-day special assembly session scheduled for
September 10, during which a new bill facilitating inter-university transfers
for teaching and non-teaching faculty will be introduced.
Legal & Tourism Developments: Supreme Court Refuses TMC
Relief: The Supreme Court of India declined to grant interim relief to the TMC
regarding the removal of an allegedly unauthorized party billboard from the
Kolkata office of Abhishek Banerjee.
₹500 Crore Tourism Push: The state government earmarked a
massive ₹500 crore allocation for tourism development. The funds are slated for
expanding wildlife tourism in North Bengal and transforming Mandarmani into a

GULF
WAR:
Strait of Hormuz : Iran's "Exclusion Zone": Iran’s
top security official, Mohsen Rezaei, announced plans to establish a strict
maritime restriction zone extending from the line of the U.S. naval blockade
into the Persian Gulf. Any vessel entering without Iranian permission will face
placement on an Iranian sanctions list.
Collapsing Shipping Traffic: Shipping data from analytics
firm Kpler revealed that traffic through the Strait of Hormuz fell by 28%,
dropping to just 77 vessels last week.
U.S. Blockade Enforcement: U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM)
reported that its forces have redirected 94 commercial vessels, disabled three,
and boarded two since mid-July to cut off Iranian ports. This follows the
complete destruction of three IRGC-linked oil tankers by the U.S. Navy over the
weekend.
Oman Rescue Operation: The Royal Navy of Oman confirmed it
successfully evacuated 16 crew members from the Saudi-flagged oil tanker SIDR,
which was struck by Iranian forces last week. Two seamen were confirmed dead.
Gulf State Realignment: The United Arab Emirates (UAE)
announced it is aggressively expanding pipelines and port capacities along its
eastern coast to ensure its energy trade is not "held hostage" by the
U.S.–Iran war.
Nuclear Demands: International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
chief Rafael Grossi urged Iran to re-engage with UN inspectors. This comes as
the U.S., UK, France, and Germany draft a resolution to refer Tehran to the UN
Security Council.
NEPAL
FLOOD:
Nepal observed a national day of mourning on 13th
day as the official death toll from the
catastrophic August 26 flash floods surged to 1,355 confirmed dead, with nearly
5,000 people still missing.
International
experts— Teams from India, China, South Korea, and Malaysia are on the ground.
Malaysia recently deployed a specialized SMART rescue team equipped with
high-capacity drones. Australian tunnel rescue specialist Arnold Dix—are
assisting local teams in trying to reach an estimated 900 trapped hydropower
workers.
Survival Statistics: To date, 13,396 individuals have been
safely rescued, including over 300 foreign tourists.
On the Chinese side of the border in Tibet, authorities
reported that the disaster claimed at least 43 lives, with over 500 people
remaining unaccounted for. A significant portion of the missing across the
border includes international pilgrims who were traveling the gateway route
toward the sacred Mount Kailash.

NEWS:
BLA Campaign Claims: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA)
announced that its fighters carried out 28 operations across Balochistan
between September 1 and September 7. The BLA claimed to have killed 52
Pakistani military personnel during this span, with major engagements reported
in Pasni, Zamuran, and Kalat.
The Zehri tehsil has remained under an intense, months-long
military curfew. Recent reports from The Balochistan Post highlight a strict
lockdown where mobile phone services are entirely suspended. Locals claim that
nearly 25 residents from the Sunni area were detained under suspected enforced
disappearances, alongside casualties from drone and quadcopter surveillance
strikes.

Human Rights & Humanitarian Backlash: Mass Civilian
Displacement: In regions like Zamuran, families are fleeing their ancestral
homes due to perpetual low-altitude drone surveillance and highly restrictive
checkpoints.
UN Intervention Call: Naseem Baloch, chairman of the Baloch
National Movement (BNM), and various UN human rights experts have publicly
denounced the rapid surge in unlawful student detentions, collective
punishments, and enforced disappearances. According to rights watchdogs, there

CRIME
& PUNISHMENT:
Five Municipal Corporation of Delhi, MCD officials including
the Deputy Commissioner, Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer, Assistant
Engineer and Junior Engineer suspended in connection with the building collapse
at Satya Niketan in New Delhi. Delhi Police has arrested three persons in
connection with the building collapse yesterday, in which seven people lost
their lives.
Karnataka High Court orders advocate to plant 1,000 fruit
bearing saplings for misbehaving with Sessions Judge. The court further directed Rangaswamy to file
a compliance affidavit by October 31, 2026, regarding payment of cost to the
District Legal Services Authority in Ballari and planting of trees will be
considered on November 2, 2026.
Manipuri musician C Vikram Singh, 54, died after an alleged
assault in Delhi's Kilokari village. The incident occurred when Singh objected
to a group creating a disturbance outside his apartment. Seven men and one
juvenile, identified as delivery and Dhaba workers, have been arrested by
police.
The makers of Vimal Elaichi on Monday approached the Delhi
High Court seeking to quash show-cause notices issued to their brand
ambassadors Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff by the Maharashtra FDA
for alleged misrepresentation of the product in ad campaign. All of them shall be heavily fined.

Pune-based Ram Astra Aerospace has rolled out a new
Kamikaze-style strike drone, designed specifically for battlefield and
counter-terrorism operations.
L&T Precision Engineering & Systems has delivered
INS Samarthak, the first-of-class multi-purpose vessel built for the Indian
Navy, marking an important step in strengthening India’s indigenous defence and
shipbuilding capabilities. The vessel
was delivered from L&T’s Kattupalli Shipyard near Chennai.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has got regulatory
approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to buy an aggregate stake of up
to 9.99% in ICICI Bank. The regulatory clearance enables the biggest insurance
company of India to buy into the private sector bank, although the actual
acquisition process hasn’t been initiated yet.
