Casualties & Search Operations- -Massive Scale of Missing Persons: Of the 6,145 people currently missing, approximately 587 are foreign nationals. Around 900 are workers who were trapped inside submerged energy facilities and hydropower tunnels, such as the Langtang and Chilime projects.

Hardest-Hit Districts: According to Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), the highest concentration of recovered bodies is in Chitwan (364 deaths), followed by Nawalparasi East (232), Nawalparasi West (222), Nuwakot (203), and Rasuwa (199).

LAW, CRIME & PUNISHMENT:

The Government has refuted allegation that the Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) on UPI has been introduced because of external pressure. Department of Financial Services in Ministry of Finance said, the allegation is patently false and misleading. It said that the introduction of MDR on select high-value transactions will enable more domestic companies to operate under UPI.
