Tensions escalate in West Asia as Houthis launch missile and
drone attacks at Saudi Arabia: Saudi

for a state visit to the United States.
US drone maker Powerus has signed a memorandum of
understanding with the Pakistan Army that includes an initial order for
unmanned aerial systems, though the models, quantity and value remain
undisclosed. The deal is
notable because Powerus is preparing to merge with Aureus Greenway Holdings, a
company backed by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump through American Ventures.
*Houthis Threaten Pakistan with Ballistic Missile Strikes on
Karachi Over Saudi Troop*: A Houthi official reportedly warned that if Pakistan
sends troops to support Saudi Arabia, Karachi could become a target for

GULF WAR:
Iran warns against any new large-scale strikes by the US and
its allies, saying it received information that such a plan is being prepared.
Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says the
Strait of Hormuz will remain closed “until the US fulfils its commitments”
under the peace deal signed in June.
US President Donald Trump says the only options on the table

FLASH FLOOD:
Casualties & Missing Persons: Out of the 1,451 confirmed
fatalities, the hardest-hit regions include Chitwan (367 dead), Rasuwa (236),
Nawalparasi East (232), and Nawalparasi West (222). The missing-person list
currently stands at 5,786, which includes 636 foreign nationals. Across the
border in Tibet, the same disaster claimed 43 lives, with over 500 still
missing.
INDIA’SRESPONSE: India has rushed a total of 141.5 tons of
emergency relief materials and equipment to flood-stricken Nepal since the
disaster struck on August 26, 2026. Acting under its "Neighborhoods
First" policy, the Indian government dispatched its 9th Indian Air Force
(IAF) aircraft on September 19, 2026, carrying a fresh tranche of 11 tons of
critical supplies. The total breakdown of India's humanitarian assistance and
disaster relief (HADR) includes: Relief Material (141.5 Tones): This consists
of emergency shelters, family tents, blankets, hygiene kits, solar lamps,
sleeping bags, ready-to-eat meals, and essential rescue medicines. Expert
Personnel (54 Experts): India deployed 54 specialized personnel to the ground.
This includes 30 tunnel rescue experts to aid operations in collapsed
hydropower plants, 19 foreign/technical experts, and a 5-member medical team. Specialized
Technical Support: The assistance features specialized forensic kits and
forensic expert teams sent to assist the Nepal Police with DNA analysis for
identifying victims. Advanced drones are also being utilized to drop emergency
food and aid into isolated geographic zones.

Sharp Spike in Attacks on Mining Operations:
Economic Sabotage: A report released by the Armed Conflict
Location & Event Data Project (ACLED) reveals that attacks targeting
extractive mining operations in Baluchistan have surged, with 38 distinct
attacks recorded between January and September 2026 alone.
The Strategy: The attacks primarily target mineral and
fossil fuel transit paths. Separatist groups view large-scale gold, copper, and
gas mining by state and foreign corporations as direct economic exploitation of
Baluchistan’s natural wealth. Security analysts warn this poses an immense risk
to Pakistan's efforts to attract global investment to its copper-gold reserves

The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad, ATS, carried out a

alias Sardar Ji, the chief of Jharkhand’s banned extremist outfit, the Tritiya
Prastuti Committee, TPC, in an encounter.
MISHAPS:
Two people were killed and four others injured after an
electric shock at a temporary drinking water stall near a Ganeshotsav mandal in
Kalachowki, Mumbai, early yesterday morning. The incident took place on
Dattaram Lad Marg, near the entrance of the Mahaganpati Utsav Mandal.
A 32-year-old woman died Friday after the car she was
travelling in plunged nearly 40 feet from a flyover on the Bengaluru-Mysuru
national highway into an underpass near Mandya town in Karnataka.
One person died after an unexpected flash flood hit
Kottappuzha at TK Colony in Pookkottumpadam around 5 pm on Sunday.
Three persons were killed and one injured after a BMW car
met with an accident on Mumbai’s Coastal Road early yesterday morning. The
accident took place near Lotus Jetty while the car was travelling from Marine
Drive towards Haji Ali.
WEATHER:
IMD issued an advisory predicting heavy rainfall and gusty
winds across West Bengal from September 22–25. It also issued an orange warning
for heavy to very heavy rainfall over Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and
Telangana for the next two to three days.
