The Union Cabinet has sanctioned the Green Energy Corridor
Phase-III (GEC-III) project for improving India’s Intra-State Transmission
System (InSTS) to enable transmission of up to 135 GW of renewable energy. The
total outlay of the project is ₹1,86,405 crore. The projects are expected to be
completed by FY 2032-33.
The 8th edition of the e-auction of gifts presented to the
Prime Minister has been extended until 31st of October. The Culture Ministry
said this edition features 30 different mementos showcasing the diverse
dimensions of Delhi. The 30 mementos include nine photo frames, nine mementos,
and six idols, sculptures, and statues.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has submitted its
recommendations to the Union Government, with a focus on extending gender-neutral
Child-Care Leave to the private sector, mandatory paid paternity leave, and
five lakh crèches by 2030.
The Government of India, along with the Union Territory of
Ladakh, has officially named 28 geographical locations and features in Ladakh
according to standard place and feature names on the Survey of India (SoI) map.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) reviewed
the enforcement actions, inspections, and compliance status across the National
Capital Region NCR for the reporting period between 8th to 24th September.
Environment Ministry said, a total of 197 inspections were reported during the
period.
Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that Railways
achieved a historic milestone as the speed increased to 100 kilometers per hour
on Katra-Banihal section and Vande Bharat crossed Chenab and Anji Bridges at
100 kilometers per hour. The maximum permissible speed on the
111-kilometre-long Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Banihal section has been
increased from 75 kilometers per hour to 100 kilometers per hour.
The Government has extended the timelines under Component II
of Resilience and Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation (RELIEF), a
time-bound intervention under the Export Promotion Mission.
Gujarat’s Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill, 2026, received
Presidential assent on 2 October 2026 and was notified as Gujarat Act No. 15 of
2026 in the Gujarat Government Gazette Extraordinary on 1 October 2026

and Village Industries Commission Chairman Manoj Goyal informed that a special
discount campaign has been launched across the country including Khadi Bhawan
