2011 One Day Cricket World cup played in INDIA, and won by INDIA—is somehow STAMPED as Dhoni’s World Cup.

If the world cup of 2011 come to your mind—Dhoni hoisting the winning 6 gets frozen in the mind.

Sure, Dhoni, who was not batting well in the event, promoted himself in the CHASE, and  played a beautifully controlled aggressive innings , and scripted the win by HOISTING THE BALL SAILED OVER MIDWICKET boundary for a six.

But, we must not forget that it was a fully team game, and all members played key roles, like in 1983.

Sachin Tendulkar: 482 runs. Also, the second highest run scorer in the tournament.

Gautam Gambhir: 392 runs. Also anchored the innings in Final. Sudden rush of blood—and he missed the Century by a few runs on the final day, and MoM award..

Virender Sehwag: 380 runs with a brilliant strike rate of 122.5. Highest individual score(175) in the tournament.

Yuvraj Singh: 362 runs and 15 wickets. Best all-rounder of the tournament

Zaheer Khan: 22 wickets. Highest wicket taker in the tournament

Virender Sehwag - Virat Kohli : Fourth highest partnership(203) in the tournament

Munaf Patel, according to the then-bowling coach Eric Simmons of India was the “unsung hero” of India's 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup victory. Munaf finished the tournament with 11 wickets, as third-highest wicket-taker for India, behind Zaheer Khan (22) and Yuvraj Singh (15).

Harbhajan Singh: Took  9 wickets economically, and broken key partnerships.

MS Dhoni: Captain of the team, who captained brilliantly.

The 2011 World Cup semi-final against India would be one of the matches Pakistan most want to forget. No one could hold on to a catch, and it  turned out to be a comedy of errors for Pakistan on the field. Tendulkar alone was dropped four times on his way to 85—on 27 by Misbah-ul-Haq,  at 45 by Younis Khan,  on 70 by Kamran Akmal, and  at 81 by Umar Akmal. During the second semi-final of 2011 Cricket World Cup, Raina batted with tailenders to score an unbeaten 36, a significant contribution to India's final tally of 260. Pakistan chased , and scored 231 to lose the Second Seminal. Those 36 runs from Raina were DECIDER.

India was a STRONG fielding side also, with two best fielders—Raina, and Yuvaraj.

Dhoni won the Man of the Match award for the game on the  final day, and Yuvaraj won man of the series award.

These are not only records. This is just a reminder that Cricket is a team game and not an individual game. Even if one of them didn’t perform well, India wouldn’t have bagged the cup.

HOWEVER--India is the only country to win the 60-Over, 50-Over and 20-Over World Cup.
