EXIT POLL: BENGAL-2026 SARASIJ MAJUMDER   PHASE:--1 One hundred and fifty-two constituencies ( 152) across 16 districts voted in the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly polls on April 23. 54 of these seats are spread across the region where Muslim population is quite sizeable. These seats, which are spread across the Murshidabad, Malda, Uttar Dinajpur, and Birbhum districts, Muslims overwhelmingly voted for the Trinamool Congress in 2021 — where TMC won in 49 compared to just five for the Bharatiya Janata Party. Muslims, also voted in large, very large number, this time, in my opinion,—to show their anger over SIR, which many of them were told as ‘Anti-Muslim Exercise’ by BJP. But—they always vote beyond 90%, hence additional effect will not be much. Five of these constituencies saw a very sharp rise in turnout from 2021. Raghunathganj in Murshidabad had the biggest jump, going from 76.4 to 96.9 per cent. Jangipur, also in Murshidabad, increased from 77.8 t...

A SCAM IN GOD’S OWN COUNTRY

BLACK SPOT ON RED GOVERNMENT--KERALA

SARASIJ MAJUMDER

Congress legislator Mathew Kuzhalnadan brought out  documents which is likely to establish the manner in which Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan  favoured the mining firm CMRL in lieu of illegal gratification to his daughter’s IT company. Kuzhalnadan stated that it was  in 2004 that CMRL got a mining lease in four areas in Alappuzha Ile the Central government issued orders in 2019 to end private participation in the mining of atomic minerals and make it available to public sector only, the Kerala government issued orders cancelling the contract with KMRL, a subsidiary of the Kochi-based CMRL, only in December 2023, nearly five years after the Central government’s order.

CPI-M is on guard, and  has asked its top leadership not  to react, and refrain from making any provocative statements. The party is trying to find out  out how the crucial documents reached to Kuzhalnadan, from department of Industry, which is manned by officers closed to C.M.

Veena Vijayan, the daughter of C.M.-- is the sole director of Bengaluru- based IT firm Exalogic. The company, at present,  is in a dormant state.  It may be a company either engaged in, or intended to be used in  Money Laundering only.

Vijayan, after assuming office in 2016, has been favouring CMRL. The probes by the Registrar of Companies and the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) have found that Rs 1.72 crore was received by Veena’s IT firm after 2016 from CMRL.

“…The Income Tax Interim Settlement Board has found that a total of Rs 1.72 crore was received by Veena Vijayan and her company Exalogic Solutions during 2017-20, which was an illegal transaction. Meanwhile, the Union government on Monday revealed before the Karnataka High Court that it ordered an investigation by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office since the Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited engaged in sourcing of beach sand minerals along the Kerala coast made illegal payments to the extent of Rs 135 crore to various political functionaries of Kerala state and certain other entities, including Exalogic Solutions….”--- STATESMAN

On 13/02, the CPI-M forced the Assembly Speaker to prevent Kuzhalnadan from making a reference on the issue in the House even after he had submitted a written request to the Speaker with the relevant documents.

But, the legislator is determined and said that what he revealed on Tuesday was just TRAILOR and he has more documents which he will reveal in time and nail the Chief Minister for good.

ALL IS NOT GOOD AND FAIR IN THE SOLE  RED BASTION OF INDIA.
